This club has more rules and guidelines than Augusta national. The course itself is on par with johnsons ranch next door. There was a change in leadership in 2021 and the course shows it.
Your drives fall in mud and stick. then your approach is out of no grass and mud under it. Bunkers are ok, rough is dead mud, greens are ok, tee boxes are destroyed, fairways are mud and destroyed.
When I asked them they said this is "normal AZ summer conditions". When I asked to compare to a similar course in terms of conditions he could not provide that information. When I compared to Johnsons ranch or Seville he tried to say it was better. I asked when he last went out to another course, could not answer that either. Continued to say he drives the course daily and is happy with it.
I'm a social member ready to sign up for membership but I refuse until the course is addressed. Based on his answers these conditions are the new norm..
This place is in rough rough shape. It's winter conditions have taken a hit as well. The course is not recoverable come winter due to what they put it through in the summer. It's on par with power ranch in terms of conditions.
To top it off. You can't use range even if you pay and are a member, unless you have a tee time. The membership here is extremely territorial until you obliterate them on the course then they love you. The course is empty from 1-7pm yet social members aren't allowed to play but a few times a year.
Never seen a club so mismanaged and out of touch with reality. They need to open this up to the public after 1pm and use the cash to save the course. Before that I'd probably hire a director and sup and have an idea of what a private 40k membership course should look like and see if they can save it with the current cash flow.
None of this will happen cause the main issue is the membership are the most territorial I have ever seen (have held 7 private memberships nationwide. Played at most in the state on top of that) It's literally insane how rude, off-putting, demining, and disrespectful the entire membership is.
I played with the president of the golf membership (i think? lefty with PXG). He himself spoke of the membership in this exact way. This was prior to the course being gone.
Try playing through a group of members as a single out here... ha! Did one time on hole 9 and got heckled very bad until I put it within 2 feet with them all standing on the tee box with me. made birdie...
Read moreI booked a tee time at Encanterra Golf Club through their website, only to arrive and discover a significant issue. Apparently, their website has been malfunctioning for months, routing tee times to their sister course over an hour away in Peoria. Despite the bag drop staff and pro shop staff acknowledging this known glitch, management refused to accommodate me, citing the club's private status. I just moved to Queen Creek and had no idea the club was fully-private. The website says AZ residents can book public tee times.
What frustrated me the most was their lack of accountability and customer service. The pro shop suggested they could attempt to cancel my reservation at the other course without a fee — as if I should be grateful not to be penalized for their own technical failings! It's absurd and unacceptable to penalize customers for problems on their end.
As a working professional with limited free time, I had planned my entire day around this round of golf, only to have it ruined by their incompetence. Any golfer understands how valuable and rare a day off for 18 holes can be. Now, due to their negligence, I have to wait another week to play, weather permitting.
Encanterra Golf Club needs to prioritize fixing their website issues and treating their customers with respect and fairness. They could have made an exception or comped me a tee time at their sister course for another date. Instead, they shrugged their shoulders and sent me on my way. I would caution anyone considering visiting the property for golf or the restaurant to beware of potential booking errors and the club's unwillingness to rectify them...
Read moreMy husband and I went to eat at the restaurant a few weeks ago, we were seated outside and waited 25 minutes before I decided to get up and ask why we had not even been given a menu, let alone asked for a drink, as we saw multiple waiters and waitresses attending to other tables outside. After I finally went inside to say something, someone came right away.
Fast forward to today, my husband booked a tee time to play golf at Encanterra. He drove all the way there for his tee time and was told that they did not have anyone scheduled. He showed them his email confirmation and they then told him there is a "glitch" with their technology and that this issue has been going on for a few months. The man working outside told him they would probably make an exception for him as it is not my husband's fault and to put his clubs in the cart. He proceeded inside to speak to someone at the desk and they told him they could absolutely not make an exception for him but what they "could offer" is to call the golf course 1 hour and 30 minutes away that he "supposedly was scheduled to play at" and have them cancel it so my husband didn't get charged a cancellation fee. My husband would/could be charged a cancellation fee when he had a physical email confirmation to play at Encanterra at a specified tee off time because the system failed?! I am appalled, I cannot believe they did not make an exception to let him play as it was 110% their fault and fully acknowledged it happening for many months?! Very disappointing, unpleasant and improper...
