I’ve never left a review but I’m going out of my way to leave this one. I approached the sales counter asking to buy 4/0 underground service cable for my new home only to feel like I was a bother to the salesman. The response I received was “that doesn’t tell me what kind of cable you want, you can’t use 4/0 cable for a 200amp service, I’m not going to sell you that, call whoever sent you to find out what you need”. I then said I am not an electrician but I thought I could use 4/0 cable for a 200 amp service, if that won’t work then what cable do I need? He replies “I can’t tell you what size you need because then I would be liable and if your not an electrician you shouldn’t be doing the work.” and begins to walk away from me. If a salesperson for an electrical supply store is knowledgeable enough to tell me what I shouldn’t use then he should be able and willing to tell me what I should use or at least offer some advice.
