ThIs is my favorite hobby store. I always find something whenever I have a new hobby project. The staff are great. The owner is a really nice guy. His son actually played a game of DbA with me. There also is a grumpy British guy who is really friendly (I forgot all the staff's names). The store has a wide variety of stock. It is constantly updated. They recently added Guild Ball and Infinity. If you are interested in Bolt Action or Flames of War this is the store for you. They also have full selection of Gee Dubs stuff too. I come for all the different wargames rules they stock. I got most of my DbMM 2.0 army books and rules here. I recommend stopping here and checking out the store. The gaming floor is actually upstairs and overlooks the sales floor. My only reservation (and is more of a slight against Utah and NOT Gajo) is that the gaming community is very insular. They are not rude or the typical elite gamer attitude. But the Scandinavian "Don't disturb someone's privacy" is definitely here. I never got that involved in the gaming community due to having little ones. If you do decide to game regularly here you may have to be very persistent. Of course I could be totally wrong and the community is awesome. Once again, this is my favorite gaming store. As an over the road truck driver I actually plan to stop in SLC so I...
Read moreHuge selection of miniatures, and the fellow working there when I stopped by (I'm assuming the owner) was very welcoming and friendly but left me alone to browse. Didn't see the gaming space, but it was upstairs and looked pretty huge. I haven't played tabletop games since I was a kid, and can't really afford to get back into it now, but I used to absolutely love to paint miniatures so it was cool to see a shop where they're clearly into that, too, and I might be back to pick up painting supplies and get back into that part of it. I do wish things had been labeled with prices so I could determine what I could afford without having to ask (I have social anxiety so being outgoing can be tough :D), but I know small businesses often can't do that. Stopping by this shop and just looking at the (super fun looking!) games that have come out in recent years, and listening to the chatter of enthusiasts while I browsed, really made me want to get back into things. I'll definitely be back to Gajo Games next time I'm...
Read moreThis is the hobby/war-gaming store that lesser shops aspire to be. Top notch in terms of product, play space, and employees.
I've been a regular at Gajo for years, ever since I first began my foray into miniature painting and boy am I lucky I stumbled across this location. Even if they didn't have a fantastic stock and play space (which they do!), it would be worth it to come into the store just to interact with the employees. They have been invaluable as I've learned the craft--always incredibly friendly and helpful with everything I've asked. I want to give a special shout out to the owner, Craig, who is an absolute pleasure to work with.
Bottom line, even after moving up to the Layton area, I still make a pilgrimage down to Gajo at least once a month for supplies. This is the kind of store that defines what a friendly local game store should be and they are absolutely deserving of all the business...
