I've used 1% here and there over the last 3 years. They've done a good job updating the menu and selection options. Things aren't as salty as they used to be and now you can even pick which meals you want. At the end of the day, it still tastes kinda diety, but I dig the food. In any case, great improvements!
‐---------- I just started using 1% fitness for my meals and I've gotta say, the food is delicious! I've only eaten 2 meals, but it definitely doesn't feel like weight loss food to me! I've tried some local places as well as Nutrisystem. This by far is the best tasting. I will update again once I've finished out the week, but DAMN! It's tasty! :)
Update I'm on my 2nd week, and I've definitely lost some weight. Not sure if it's sustainable, as everything kind of tastes the same. I like to join meal prep programs so that I can get different flavors and variety. I'm the type of person that gets very bored with food, so I will probably not be able to last more than a month.
I haven't been able to eat an entire meal (medium) in one sitting. It's possible that it's because it's cleaner eating than was doing before, but it makes me extremely thirsty. I checked the sodium levels, and it seems like all 3 meals are under the daily sodium intake limit, but I feel like I need to chug a gallon of water after eating about half of it. It's a good and a bad thing.
I've also noticed that if you don't do the full meal program (for all 7 days), the best looking meals are excluded, lol. I was really looking forward to the Korean BBQ steak, but it wasn't there. I did see that the website states that you can't pick your meal, so just expect to eat mostly white meats like chicken and turkey, and a couple pork dishes. This has happened 2 weeks in a row, so it's probably because those meats are cheaper.
Anyways, I still think this is one of the better meal prep services and it is definitely a great way to kick off your weight loss journey. I haven't calculated the macros, but the portions of protein are definitely better than other meal prep services. I think my previous meal prep place fudged the numbers a bit, this...
Read moreI am so disappointed with the owners and employees running this place. If I could give 0 stars I would. I used 1% Fitness years ago when they were just starting out and never had an issue. When I saw they had keto options I wanted to give them another try and paid $650 for four weeks worth of food. Over this time period, my husband and I were hit hard financially because of COVID and I wasn't planning on purchasing again because of this. I didn't realize 1% Fitness had switched their meal prep service to a subscription until my card was charged another $650. A subscription is not mentioned in their terms and conditions (that hasn't been updated since 2017), it wasn't mentioned while I was creating my account, and there were no emails sent out regarding it. I called their customer service number where I spoke to a guy that sounded confused out of his mind and all he could say after telling him a subscription wasn't mentioned and I really can't afford it was "Well, it says it's a subscription somewhere." He couldn't even tell me where it mentions a subscription and he told me all he could do was talk to the owners and see if they would give me a refund.
I waited and finally got a call back a few days later. The guy started the call with "So you're not going to like this answer, but the owners aren't giving you a refund." He offered a store credit that I declined because that's not the issue. The issue is having a poorly made website that doesn't properly display or explain a subscription is being set up, as well as the terms and conditions I agreed to when signing up says nothing about a subscription or my card being charged again. This is unethical and bad business practice. Not to mention the blatant disregard and lack of empathy for a person/customer that fell on hard times DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC. I understand everyone is struggling in one way or another right now, but this is something that could have easily and amicably...
Read moreVery friendly staffs. Menu is rather dull... And the food is not that healthy (or it depends).
I used their products for ~ 3 months (03/24 - 06/30)
5 stars for staffs here. The most personable & friendly people I've ever dealt with. They remembered who you are, what your needs might be, and were always helpful. I took back 1 star because they don't change the menu that much. For the 3 months that I subscribed to the meals plan, they only had 1-2 new meals every week (or every other week), and the rest were pretty much the same. I was a little bored with the variety of my meal plan. I took back another star because of the breakout issue during those 3 months. Breaking out started to happen the 2nd-3rd week, and I was explained that this is "normal" because of my body pushing out all the toxic substances. Well. I gave it another try, but things were just exacerbated. At the end of 2nd month, my face was terrible; and I complained this again with the staffs and they noticed, but just told me to continue the meal plan and things would improve. I was pretty foolish (thinking back now) that I bought that, and tried it until the 3rd month when I went to the doctor to check out; and she immediately told me to stop the meal plan. I stopped the meal plan, and few weeks later (now), my face is (slowly) healing, and started to have the smooth look that I had before.
My co-worker had the same issue with breaking out, and the menu variety; so she stopped, good for her - she stopped before it was too late. I was pretty foolish, that is why I lost my 3 months of super self-consciousness; the 3 months that I would never get back.
Anyway. Results may vary. This was my experience; hence, my review. Try it for yourself to see - but don't stick for too long as I did. There are many options out there; listen to your body, and make changes before...
