I came here on Monday 1/28 to play some games on my own after a rough day at work. I love arcades, and would consider myself to be higher than average when it comes to winning games. The guy at the counter was really nice, he fixed the machines I asked him to fix and gave me back tickets when they didn't dispense which was awesome. (there were still a LOT of games not working/not dispensing tickets but I gave up letting them know and only asked on the few games I had already won on that hadn't dispensed) it wasn't very busy, but I was there at a good time. 4-5 pm.
The reason I don't give a 5 stars is ticket payout and poor choices of prizes to redeem your tickets for. I was there about an hour and a half, I spent $25 total to play games, plus the entry fee, and while a good 3-4 bucks went down the drain due to non-functioning games, the amount of tickets I ended up with was just sad... and I do well at arcade games. After 1.5 hours, i'd only gotten barely 600 tickets. Now for little kids that's not a bad amount of tickets. But the frustrating thing was the cost of prizes. even though I had about 600 tickets, the only things I could even get in exchange for said tickets were small little kid toys that you can buy from oriental trading, or candy. The candy wasn't even king size. Even if I don't view this from an adult's point of view, and pretend what i'd like as a kid, the prize selection was still terrible. In order to get something like a stuffed animal or fidget spinner, you need around 800 tickets or more. Even if a kid got lucky and hit tons of jackpots, with the amount these games pay out, they couldn't even get a toy without saving up from multiple trips.
After contemplating going back to this location, I did go back on Friday 2/1 & gotta say it wasn't much better of an experience; worse actually. The young adults on shift weren't friendly at all & just seemed annoyed to be there & even more annoyed that I would ask them to fill a machine with tickets. As a matter of fact, I spent $20 on one coin pusher cause I love those machines & when I went to get more tokens to play other games, I told them it was outta tickets 2 times but they didn't replace it or acknowledge my direct statement. So I play a few other games, realize i'm still not getting hardly any tickets and decide to play a different coin pusher that, of course, wasn't working then that one ran out of tickets after playing only a couple of nickels. In total i'd spent about $30 total being there this day, still only ended up with barely 1,000 tickets which still didn't get me more than candy. As I left I told the kids behind the counter for the 3rd time that 2 machines were out of tickets... they didn't fill them up until AFTER I left which is wrong. If I come in & spend $30 in tokens, there is no reason you should refuse to fill a machine with tickets because i'm doing pretty good on it. Not to mention its about the only machine you can win a decent amount of tokens on. So after I was disappointed once, I gave them another chance & was even more disappointed. They made plenty of profit on the kids birthday party there at the same time as me, cause those kids won almost no tickets. SO me winning just over a thousand tickets surely didn't kill your profit margin this day. So unless there is an age limit on coin pushers, or arcade games in general, you should refill the machines upon the request of a PAYING customer who gave you another shot at 5 stars. Like I said previous, I seriously enjoy arcades but these guys care more about profit than maintaining...

To be honest I went here super excited because i love the idea of nickle mania i like using the nickles and getting the paper tickets. We always go to nickle mania on state street. But they use cards now I dont neccesarily like it. Even though the service is much nicer. First of all every machine was jammed okay that's exaggerated but at least 50 percent were jammed I was frustrated because we really wanted to have a good time but I kept trying to relax and just enjoy the time I had. Even though I knew to play what i would have wanted I would have gone up to them more then 10 times. The worst part is they through attitude when they didnt come and help us he told me it was because he was showing the guy... my apologies he practically yelled at me and was shaking from anger because he said he was showing the guy how to fix the machine on his phone and it was rude of me to ask for help and expect them to help me. I walked over with him to the machines arguing with me the whole way saying that he doesnt know about the machines and people dont tell him... hmm I wonder why they dont tell you when you give them attitude and act like a burden. I asked for a refund I got yelled at. I apologized he gave dirty looks. This man shouldn't be working with people he cant control his anger someone shaking from anger who works with people ya great idea. I've never been here I'll never go again. I had a terrible week came her to unwind and what happens I get treated like garbage save your money state street is much nicer and ya you don't get to use nickles but you get treated like a human being and not a burden. They're machines work and they're alot cheeper good luck to you all but if you want to have a good time...
Read moreWell I do have to admit since I’ve last been here they’ve definitely fixed a lot of their games and added some new games but not much. To be honest it’s a very old arcade that needs a refresh bad. Most of the games are fixed half assed and look very terrible. A lot of blurry monitors or screen is going out but hey the games work lol.
I took a lot of pictures of most of the arcade and most of the nonworking games please look at them if you need to see what is not working.
There’s a game in here that cost two dollars. My favorite game is now $.30 which is OK in the groove 2. I only come here to dance on the machine and exercise. They’re price selection doesn’t seem much.
Bottom line if your kid never goes to arcades and doesn’t play the latest games they’ll probably enjoy themselves. Or if you’re just trying to save a buck this is a great place to go.
Sadly one of the basketball games doesn’t count your score unfortunately.
I’m not sure why the Darren owner would have purchased this place if he’s not going to make a real effort into improving the arcade.
Apparently they don’t offer the season pass anymore either. And I guess you could go online and find a coupon. So hey I guess you’re can go try it for free. But if you can’t afford three dollars for an entry fee when I doubt you can afford...
