I found my people! Walking in I was immediately greeted by Jimmy the store owner. Warm and welcoming and just beaming with his love of everything brick! The store is beautifully laid out, with so much to choose from current LEGO offerings to discontinued treasures. Lots of space to ponder on if you need to buy 1 or 2 of the same set?
This is a family (Bamily)/ Military-vet owned store. I got introduced a few of the staff, Jimmy, his lovely wife Helen and daughter Cadence. My Father is retired from the military and so it just made me that more comfortable… second home??
I love the atmosphere they created, there’s even 2 couches for the Lego reserved patrons. But is so calming and easy and bright in there, I can definitely spend hours hanging out. Lego Cafe???
Anyway, this store has made a lasting impression on me, I’m happy to support them and to see them grow. I look forward to making new friends in my new home.
Please drop by, say hi, chat a bit. If you need a little pep to brighten your day. There’s nothing like the zen sound of LEGO being tossed around in the bins.
Open 10am - 7pm (perhaps) Store offerings:
There’s a bin of random legos to dig around for pieces you might need for your build or MOC/ MiniFigs/ display options / trade in counter / also A bounty board where you can request for certain sets and they’ll give you a call. And lastly they do host events, if you wanted to throw a Lego party. Umm, yes please sign me up.
Welcome them to the neighborhood! Lovely people! They are located in the same plaza as Chuck E.Cheese. You can’t miss them.
Adult Lego enthusiasts are fully embraced! It’s okay to be a kid again! Let’s start a...
Read moreWe called them over the phone to ask if they took bulk trade-ins. They said they did so we took over 10 boxes of bulk Legos, and a box of manuals and boxes. They let us unload the entire lot and haul it into the store, back and forth several times before telling us they would only give us 10 dollars cash for it all because it was "dirty and unsorted" even though the Legos were totally clean and sorted by color and size. It was a completely insulting lowball. Why advertise that you accept trade ins, especially bulk trade ins if you're going to give something as low as $10, which is about what I paid for a breakfast sandwich this morning?? Totally ridiculous. I think they just didnt want to sort through and clean them all, so they just lowballed us so we would leave. I used to work at GameStop, I know what its like to get a massive trade in (it was no fun, but it was part of the job), but I never once screwed with people to get them to leave before I could process them. We wanted to give a local brick and mortar store a chance before selling on ebay, something we usually do with Legos-- we usually get what they're actually worth on there too. We even had a tub full of minifigs, totally put together, which I don't understand why they didn't take considering they sell them for around 20 bucks each in store. So this business not only won't get our patronage, we will tell our friends and family as well not to bother with this establishment, especially our Lego collector friends. I don't think they'll be in business out here very long if they're in the habit of telling people their trades are dirty and outright refusing something that they could have...
Read moreI recently visited Bricks and Minifigs on 6/28/24 at the Santa Clarita store,
Hoping to sell some Star War Lego sets, inquire about specific set and price. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing.
Not interested in buying: The staff member I spoke with seemed uninterested in looking at my set. They gave my items a cursory glance and quickly dismissed them. Unhelpful with inquiries: I asked the staff member about how they price the set, but they seemed uninformed or unwilling to help. They offered minimal information or suggestions.
Overall Impression:
The overall impression I got was that the staff was uninterested in customer service or focused on specific types of transactions. This is especially frustrating because Bricks and Minifigs is supposed to be a place for Lego enthusiasts, I was hoping to sell/find something specific.
Recommendation:
For anyone considering Bricks and Minifigs, I would recommend calling ahead to inquire about buying policies and trying a different...
