Urbane Cafe — Restaurant in California

This was my first time here as I looked up vegan food near me this place popped up. When I first went in there were four people working behind the counter two people were making sandwiches, one was standing nearby watching , and another was cleaning. When I walked in, there were no other guests in the restaurant, and I stood at the register waiting for someone to approach me. No one approached me for four minutes, I kept looking down at the time wondering why no one was looking my way, but they never even acknowledge me. One person, then came up to the register to grab something then walked away, and said she was leaving. I thought she was getting ready to take my order, but I was wrong. The other two people stood by continuing making to go orders while the other person continued cleaning. As I finally turned around to walk out the door one person walk up to the register and said “how may I help you in”. I was so hungry at this time as I had already missed my lunch that I just ended up ordering which I’m glad I did because the food was amazing. The only bad experience was just customer service, outside of that I would most certainly order here again but...

So, as always, I like to write a review of my first visit to a place.

I was greeted by the manager and other employees as soon as I opened the door and entered. The ambiance is warm. laid-back and, of course a welcoming art deco flair.

The prices are surprisingly affordable and in large portion. I ordered the Mediterranean chicken sandwich, and I had no clue it came with a side of tangerine salad. The sandwich was delicious, and yes, it comes in two reasonable pieces, so I had enough to take home.

I award Carmen, Eduardo, Alejandro, Maria, Jaciel, Carolina, and Gina 5 stars for their outstanding VIP service in addition to the delectable cuisine and the cleanliness of the whole restaurant! 5 stars to the manager whom gave acknowledgment to all his team members when I had asked for who to thank. Therefore -THANK YOU TO THE URBAN CAFE TEAM; YOU ARE AMAZING! I will see you...

Disappointed, have been going here since they opened and I introduced a lot of my coworkers & acquaintances to this place they all love this place, but I know this place more than most... I come here for 2 specific sandwiched 1 is artichoke and the other is a portobello mushroom one from the vegetarian menu... They did away with the artichoke sandwich & to my surprise I think they're trying to make it cheaper 4 themselves... But the portobello mushroom sandwich used to he a giant single juicy portobello mushroom, but, that is no longer the case they changed the mushroom entirely to some sort of marinated kind that is cut into strip and a salty one NOT my cup of tea a total downgrade... Love this place, but, will have to go some place else due to things I can no longer have and quality of food is changing... Why??... And what happened to the artichoke sandwich that was...
