Love, love, love the lamps we bought while in Santa Fe! We met Costas - the Artist that designed the two matching lamps we bought at his shop “Magic Art”, while vacationing in Santa Fe. My husband and I wanted to find a “special something” to remember our 42nd Wedding Anniversary by and we saw these two beautiful lamps and just knew this was that “special something” that we were looking for. Costas is extremely friendly and personable and he made our trip to his shop “enchanting”, just like “Santa Fe - The Land of Enchantment”. We actually visited his Shop twice, going back the second time to make our purchase. If you’re in Santa Fe, stop in the “Magic Art” Shop and have a look around at all the beautiful items - you could pick anything at this shop to take home with you and you won’t regret it!!!! Thank you Costas (for the lovely lamps and the great, fun shopping experience and for your welcoming way)!!!!

As of Nov. 18, 2023, this store carries on its reputation of unprovoked rudeness. While I tried to take video of the storefront from the exterior, on public property, the shopkeeper yelled to stop and that it wasn’t allowed. He said I could go inside but after that kind of greeting all interest dissipated. I understand that shopkeepers can make their rules inside the store, and as clientele we must respect that. But respect is not earned by yelling at your customers admiring the artwork on display. The owner would do well with acquainting his or herself with New Mexico law that allows public recording. (N.M. Stat. Ann. § 30-9-20) Previous similar complaints posted on Google as of two weeks ago received replies from the owner that suggested the rude employee no longer works there. The evidence would point to the contrary.

As we were walking around the Santa Fe Plaza area something caught my eye. Beautiful colored lights in the window. This drew me in. Upon entering all I could say is I was mesmerized by the beauty of all the lights surrounding me. So many colors and styles of stained glass lights. When I was finally able to take my eyes off the lights I noticed the other things that were being sold. Rugs, purses, wallets, pillow covers, etc. We spoke to the owner and he stated that the lights were made in Turkey. I'm not sure about the rest of the stuff in the store but it definately did not look like it was made in the USA. Everything was gorgeous! This is a must see but be ready to break open your wallet because you won't want to leave without something.

Walking into this shop was like stepping into a vibrant corner of Istanbul. The Turkish lights are absolutely breathtaking—each one crafted with such detail and authenticity, it’s clear they’re made with heart and tradition. The silk pillowcases are equally exquisite: rich in color, beautifully and artistically woven, and undeniably high quality.

But what truly made the experience unforgettable was Costas. From the moment we walked in, he welcomed us with such kindness and warmth. He wasn’t just a seller—he was a storyteller, eager to share the history and culture behind every item. His hospitality was genuine, and he made the whole visit feel personal and special.

Whether you’re just browsing or looking for something meaningful to take home, this shop is a must-visit. The craftsmanship is incredible, and the experience is made even richer thanks to Costas’s friendly and welcoming spirit.

Much love...

In some ways, it is not surprising to come across Magic Art in a place like Santa Fe. This is a space that feels straight out of 1001 Nights: beautiful, magical, absolutely enchanting, with true old world vibe. Step inside to have your own magical adventure with beautiful hand made rugs, textiles, ceramics, fabulous leather handbags incorporating old kilim rug pieces (this is high level repurposing), decorative colorful glass and brass lamps of all shapes and sizes, and countless other decorative items for the home. The owner is friendly and very knowledgeable about the items (material, where it was made, techniques used, care, etc) and ultimately very helpful with decision making as to which of the gorgeous items would be best for your particular needs. Even if you are not shopping, put aside some time to visit Magic Art, just for the experience....
