Visited For One Of The Highly Recommended Desserts Was Seated Outside In Patio Javier Was Our Server. Took About 5 Minutes For His Approach To Our Table But Noticed 6 People Seated At One Of His Other Patio Tables So Was Attending To Them Also Javier Approached With Menues And We Ordered Water And Coffees With Cream. Javier Did Bring Us Two Waters With Lemon And I Asked Him For Straws Waited Another 5 Minutes He Again Approached Our Table And Took Our Dessert Orders Once Again Asked For Straws To Hear Him Grunt Like It Was Our Fault He Once Again Stated OK. About 5 Minutes Passed Again With Nothing Being Brought Out To Either Table. Finally He Approched With The Desserts We Had Ordered And I Again Asked Are We Going To Get The Coffees That Were Ordered With The Desserts Once Again Made Rude Comments Saying That He Also Had Tables Inside And That We Are Not His Only Custumers Also Mentioned That Coffee Was Brewing And I Did Remark Really. Again Asked For Straws Abd Javier Asked If We Had A Problem I Then Asked To Speak With A Member Of Management 5 Minutes Go By Again So I Approaced The Hostess And Once Again Ask For A Manager Javier Noticed My Actions And Walked By And Said That I Must Have A Miserable Life To Be Acting Like This. Well Javier I Have Owned Multiple food Businesses And My Guest Has Opened Many Restaurants In The Santa Fe Area I Must Say The Manager Took My Concerns But As I Know Probably Will Only Brush Thus Under The Rug. I Know These Owners Are Very Serious About Service At Their Restaurants Also Getting Ready To Open Another Location Hope This Review Tells Them The Direction That They Need To Take With This Problem Javier Has No Respect For Them Or Who Writes His Paycheck His Daring Attitude Will Bite Him Directly Hopefully Before He Pisses Of The Right Person I Will Pray That He Takes Pride In His Work In...

We arrived with our 2 large dogs around 2:35pm (after most restaurants close). There was a 30-45 min wait… not a problem. We walked around the plaza park and enjoyed the Fall day. They text us as soon as there was a table available. We were sat promptly and the wait was very gracious. We ordered our drinks. Ice tea and a Prickly Pear Margarita. The waiter was kind enough to offer our dogs water, which we all were very grateful for. My husband ask about the Pumpkin Pasole and a sample was promptly offered and brought to him. He is a carnivore but absolutely loved the posole! I ordered the stuffed meatloaf. We had time to sit, enjoy the weather, drinks and each other’s company. When a giant bowl of Pumpkin Pasole and a large hot plate of stuffed meatloaf, mash potatoes and squash arrived. The Pasole was delicious my husband claimed. It came with a fresh hot flour tortilla. My stuffed meatloaf was amazing! It was seasoned just right, it was stuffed with a spinach and roasted corn. The meatloaf had a slightly sweet glazed on it and was fired on the grill. It was then topped with a fabulous green chili sauce. The mash potatoes were fresh, not terribly chunky, but just right. They were topped with a homemade brown gravy. The squash was mixed with corn and sauced with onions. All this was served with an homemade yeast roll. Everything was so tasty. We wish we had the room for a dessert but unfortunately we cleaned our plates. BTW our hounds also approved as we snuck lil bites to them. Parking was close; on the street. Metered parking at 2.00 an hour...

We stopped by the Plaza cafe for breakfast before leaving town. And we were very happy we did!

We enjoyed our breakfast in the outside seating area so we can enjoy the sunlight, it was a chilly winter morning and the people who serviced us where more than happy to get the heaters set up so we can sit outside comfortably. It was greatly appreciated!

The servers where very helpful and kind, and gave us samples of their sauces with our food when I asked if we could try them (they sell them inside and they're delicious)

Yogurt bowl 10/10 - I'm not a big parfait person, but this made me a parfait person.

Plaza breakfast 10/10 - the eggs were poached beautifully, I love a runny yolk! Paired with the hash browns (perfectly crisp) and impossible patty (also perfectly cooked, tender, flavorful, not overdone). I tried the sauces with this and I'd recommend both red and green. I loved it. The pancakes were classic and I have no critiques.

Crispy fish tacos 10/10 - pleasantly surprised by the freshness and how light these tacos were, especially for breakfast! Nothing bad to say here either. Fresh and delicious!

Mexican Mocha 10/10 - texture and consistency was very good, and so was the flavor. My husband pointed out that he was happy about there not being any graininess, he's had Mexican mochas many times and that's been a complaint of his.

We would love to come back again, I hope it's just as good as this...

If you’re in Santa Fe and craving something that truly tastes like New Mexico, head to Plaza Café Southside. I stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. To start, I had the chips and salsa simple, fresh, and full of flavor. The salsa had just the right amount of spice to wake up the palate without overwhelming it. Then came a lovely surprise: they served a complimentary bread with sweet cream warm, soft, and slightly sweet. The cream was rich and velvety, almost like a dessert before the meal. Such a thoughtful and delicious touch! Next up was the New Mexican Chopped Salad, and it was anything but ordinary. The cumin vinaigrette added a bold, flavorful twist, while the lime soaked apples brought a refreshing pop. Topped with pumpkin seeds for just the right crunch, it was light, fresh, and packed with flavor. I also had the chicken chile with both red and green sauces“Christmas-style.” The chile had a perfect balance of heat and taste, and the chicken was tender and juicy. Comforting, spicy, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. My server was quick, helpful, and made the whole experience even better. If you're looking for authentic local flavor, warm hospitality, and those little touches that make a meal memorable, Plaza Café Southside is a mustvisit.
