San Sai Japanese Grill — Restaurant in Santa Monica

I've been going to Sansai now for over 7 years, and it never disappoints. The food is delicious and affordable. The place is self-serve, so you place your order with the cashier and then pick it up once it's ready. The place is small but cozy, and I really appreciate the small touches of decorations for each holiday. I highly recommend the Poke Bowl, but I'm a sushi lover. Usually I’d give San Sai 5 stars because I love the Oriental salad with the shrimp tempura and veggies. But my last visit was not good . The Restraunt smelled bad, you know how when you open the door to a place and it smells like good fresh cooked food? Ya, that didn’t happen, it was musty and everywhere seemed a little dirty. The front door was broken. It was stuffy. But that smell! It stayed in my nose for hours.
