I really enjoyed the food here. The chips were delicious, the salsas great, the guac fresh. The wait staff was nice and attentive. The restaurant was clean. My 2-star rating on service is for what appears to be an issue with how the kitchen is run. There were 3 of us who all ordered a combo plate - nothing special, just items off the menu (enchiladas & tamale & relleno). When the food arrived, I got my plate first and the food wasn't that warm. About 5-7 min later, the second plate arrived and then another 5-7 min later the third plate arrived. The food presentation was great and the food delicious. But I had to send my plate back - I hate doing that! - to get it warmed up and it took probably 15 min to come back and by that time, my two friends had finished eating most of their meals (and my meal came back now missing the fresh avocado and onions on top :( ). So it was just a haphazard dinner that could have been perfect had the food all come out at the same time and come out hot. Something is clearly going on in the kitchen and it's management, and I am writing this review so something gets fixed. I feel bad for the waitstaff who probably have to deal with this and also upset customers for something that isn't their fault. I hope they can fix this aspect of...
Read moreThis was my second visit to Cielito Lindo, and I can understand why so many five stars.
My first visit was absolutely fantastic, my second was less than stellar. I have a very specific order and it's important when they charge you for the custom order that they fulfill that order.
The second time, the food was inconsistent, and not at all the same experience as the first. Additionally, I ordered a drink, and asked for a refill.
When the drink never came, I mentioned this to the wait person. Her reply, was well I told them to get it. I guess they were busy.
She never asked if I still wanted the drink. It was as if, well they didn't get it for you, too bad, do without.
Not the right attitude, and certainly not the customer service anyone should expect. I left a 15% tip, but it was definitely not deserved or earned.
The food is decent no doubt, but there are other places who do a consistent job with better service. I won't return. Product consistency, and good customer service...
Read moreAfter hearing that the P-D rated the tacos at Cielito Lindo among the best in Santa Rosa, I was looking forward to trying them out. But the reality was very disappointing. I ordered the Tres Amigos taco sampler (pollo, carne asada, carnitas), and my dining partner had tacos al pastor.
First to arrive were very average tortilla chips and two pinchy cups of watery, bland salsa. The tacos themselves were generously filled. However, the meat fillings were salty and dry. The al pastor was the best choice here. The beans were satisfactory but the rice, too, was salty and bland. Unfortunately there was nothing on the table to properly spice things up.
It looked good, but tasted very Meh-xican. Minus 2 *.
As for the service, it was unwelcoming and indifferent. The worst of it was when we asked for water, they plopped just one glass of ice water on the table. For two people. Minus another *.
This was my first time at Cielito Lindo, I'm not sure there...
