China Legend — Restaurant in Santa Rosa

Clean, quiet, greeted and seated quickly. Wide variety of dishes on menu. Reasonable prices. Good music playing. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food arrived swiftly. It was hot n tasty. I chose the Orange Chicken which was tasty, of ample size & served attractively. But prepared in a style not my favorite. It was small chicken slivers or fingers deep fried in a heavily bread like popcorn battered coating. Lightly crispy. I personally prefer the less breaded not puffy version that's closer to chicken deep fried chunks in an orange sauce. The other reminds me of battered fish sticks. But it wasn't NOT good. The fortune in the fortune cookie was a bit philosophical rather than "fortune" like. But it did include a set of numbers. Perhaps the fortune will we found playing those on lotto or keno. Who knows? Cookie was tasty so what more can one expect? They were happy to wrap my leftovers in to go fashion with extra dipping sauces no charge for my rice. Oh & they use free range chicken from petaluma processors. No hormones. Water is filtered. Gluten free choices are plentiful. They do deliver. Not much to criticize over all. I usually Love my Experience at this Restaurant. Yesterday 05/15/18 .. I had a different experience. I went to Lunch with a friend of mine. We were having a Nice visit, Came time to pay the bill. We had a $22 Bill, Which my friend and I always split. My Portion was $11.. I Left a Tip of $2.50.. Which is above 20% (Of my portion)The Waiter came up and Rudely picked up the Check holder, Looked directly at me, and asked was there something wrong with my service? What the waiter didn't know was my friend had not left her Tip yet.. We were not done. By him doing this he lost out on the other half of his Tip. I've dined at the restaurant and ordered delivery numerous times, and the food is usually fairly decent, depending on the chef. Ordered delivery tonight and I just want to remind everyone that if you order a breaded dish for delivery it will show up completely sogged out. I mean the breading is just mush. I live less than 5 minutes away and it has never shown up crispy. Not once. Also, I don't know what they do to their chicken before breading it and deep frying it, but the chicken always ends up being dry, kind of like chicken jerky or edible chicken wood.
