Took my Galaxy S4 in for a cracked screen. I was quoted a repair time of about an hour and at a certain price (this was months ago, forgot the exact quote) and I was told the part was in stock. It was over $100 and I have insurance on my phone (which would have gotten me a replacement for $100), I just didn't want to wait for a replacement through insurance. So I agreed and handed over my phone. Suddenly the part wasn't in stock and needed to be ordered. It would be there in 2 days. I left work early to drop the phone off 2 days later but the screen wasn't there and I was told it would arrive the following day. Left work early again to drop it off, still not there. Again I was told it would be there the next day. I waited a few extra days and came back (left work early again). They then quoted me a repair time of an hour and a half. I asked why it was 30 minutes longer than the prior quote and they said it was because the previous quote was wrong, it actually takes an hour and a half. OK.... Whatever, it is what it is. I leave the phone with them and come back 2 hours later and am told it'll be just a few more minutes. An hour later they're finished. They then proceed to charge me about $20 or $30 more than previously quoted. I asked why. They said the previous quote was wrong (notice a pattern here? Parts, time, price...) but that they would honor the previous quote and they said it as though they were doing me a favor (by not using bait and switch tactics?). Also, the screen was CLEARLY an aftermarket screen as it looked NOTHING like the original - not only was it pixelated, it wasn't the right color (the border was blue instead of the proper black color). It made the phone look cheap and ugly. He just said that there was variability in screens and there was nothing he could do about it (I presume that means he could do nothing EXCEPT to except order OEM screens but that would interfere with his cost cutting measures). I asked why the repair took so long and apparently they were a "little" liberal with whatever the adhesive is for the screen and needed to clean up the phone and allow extra time for the adhesive to dry under the UV light. They also said I'd need to bring the phone back in a week to replace the front facing camera. Why? Because they used so much adhesive that the lens was covered in it and was now unusable. But never fear, they got it off of everything else it was covering! Well, except when I pressed the home button, adhesive would pour out onto the screen. A few days later, I could no longer hear out of the earpiece. While trying to figure out the problem, I removed the back and pulled the battery out - there was adhesive everywhere! I took it back in and apparently the speaker was covered in adhesive too. They cleaned it all up again and I could once again use my phone as a phone. While there, they reminded me about the camera and that it would be in stock in a few days. When I returned again (left work early, again) that part of the process went without any hiccups, and it was the only part to do so. I spent quite a bit of time in the store watching them interact with customers. Based on my experience and observations their customer service is awful. The worst culprit was a girl who had most of the customer interaction (dark hair in a pony tail, muffin top, and a "I hate the world" kind of attitude), she completely lacks empathy and should find a career where she doesn't have to talk to anyone... Ever. Avoid this place like the plague. My experience was: terrible customer service, sub-par technicians, cheap parts, TONS of misquoted, and a LOT of wasted time. I eventually just got an insurance replacement for my phone out of my own pocket through Asurion. I called and had the phone in less than 24 hours. Service was impeccable, product is FLAWLESS. If you have insurance, go without your phone for a day and get a replacement rather than dealing with...
Read moreI will start the review by saying I have used this store for repairs several times since they opened a year or so ago. The first few times we came in the store was impressive. One of two guys were always there, repairs were always on time and they always seemed to have the parts in stock or a day away. My last two visits, and final ever, were far from the experience I was use to getting. I attempted to have my Galaxy s3 glass repaired, which I now know is a common repair. However it took 5 days for them to get the part in, then I had to wait for the one guy, I believe the owner or manager, to do the repair. He was out of town for a week and the other two employees, one girl and one guy with a heavy accent, told me I would have to just wait. Not sure why you have a business with employees that can't do a simple or common repair but needless to say it was not a good visit. The girl was rude and the guy seemed clueless. The store looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in months and the room where the repairs were done looked like a junk yard. The last time, and final time, I went in to have my son's iPhone 5 glass repaired. The store was busy, same guy and girl were there. She was in the back and he helping customers. Personally he looked like he slept in his clothes and I wasn't sure he was an employee until he asked if he could help me. No uniform, no name tag, and no clue. He gave me a quote of $150 for the repair which I told him I had called earlier and was told $100. The girl in the back told him the price was only if I paid in cash. I agreed to pay in cash, as this is not the first time I have been offered a discount here on a cash sale which I understand as a small business happens from time to time. However as I sat and waited for my repair I watched several small transactions all cash with no receipts. One customer was extremely upset because her phone was "lost" in the store after she was told to pick it up. Then the girl working told her she would have to come back and pick it up when the owner was there. The lady left extremely upset when she left and told me and one other customer to never do business with them. When it came time for me to pay I paid cash, no tax and got my phone back. I was never given a receipt and when I asked for one I was told by the guy that it was a cash transaction and their system could only give me a receipt for credit cards. Needless to say I will not being going back and not recommending them anymore. The guy working is horrible with customers and rude in behavior. The girl seems that she is lazy and could really careless if you are helped or not. I was under the impression she was the owners wife/gf so that could explain her lack of excitement or desire to help anyone. I would recommend one of the other repair shops in town. There is one just down the road on Clark and one on 41 south of this store. A lot more...
Read moreBEWARE if you are bringing a laptop to this “repair” shop. My husband and I brought my laptop to this shop hoping that they could fix it or extract the contents from my hard drive. I had spilled water on it and it wouldn’t turn back on. The owner was nice and told us he would get back to us within a week and let us know if the repair was possible or if he needed to order parts or whatever for the repair. We NEVER heard back from the owner (Greg) or Sam (actual person repairing the laptop). We had to contact them multiple times to find out the status of the laptop. Each time they said that they were working on repairing it and waiting on parts. We allowed them to hold onto the laptop for 6 months before finally deciding to just pick up the laptop (unrepaired). We didn’t mind at all that the laptop was not repairable. After all, we are the ones that spilled water on it in the first place. When my husband went to pick my laptop up, it ACTUALLY was NOT my laptop. It was someone else’s laptop. We knew this immediately because 1. The laptop was not scratched (mine was). And 2. The serial numbers were not the same. We spoke to Sam and Sam said that he can assure that the insides of the laptop are mine but he just misplaced the outside cover. This was totally terrifying due to the fact that all my personal information was on the laptop and this repair shop had my password to enter the laptop if they were able to turn it on. So we took the laptop and took sams word for it. We found another repair shop that was able to turn on the laptop extract the hard drive and opened the screen and it was ACTUALLY NOT MY LAPTOP. So now I’ve been trying to get in touch with the owner to track where my actual laptop is and he’s avoiding us. So I’m writing this review so that he can either get back to us and make this right or so that I can reach out to other people that may want to use this repair shop so that they can stop and NOT have the experience that I did. No one plans to have their laptop fixed and then not even returned to them. This...
