NEVER GO HERE, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! If I could give zero stars I would. This was single handedly the worse experience I have ever had at a doctor/dentist office! I was diagnosed with early stage head and neck cancer and had to get a dental clearance before I started treatment, I was struggling to find someone last minute when I came upon Sage Dental at Siesta Row and felt relieved until I went to my appointment. When I got to my appointment early the front desk staff was very rude and unhelpful, they asked if I had to pre-med and I had explained to them that I had forgot, which was my fault, but instead of trying to work with me they berated me and said that it was my responsibility to now bring over a script to Publix and that they couldnāt even send it over electronically. I frantically went to the Publix in the same parking lot where they were able to fill my prescription and I was able to take the medication and get back to Sage before my actual appointment time. When asked about needing x-rays and explaining to them a different doctor took them recently do you need them, the front desk staff said āyou can call if you wantā in a very snooty tone without even trying to help the situation.
When I get to the dentist and explained to them my situation and she said my three tooth bridge had to come out but she was only going to do half today and the other half later after my treatment. Upon going to a different dentist the next day he explained to me he would do it all in one because there is no reason to put a patient through that twice.
Finally they send in the hygienist at Sage who asked if I have ever had bleeding gums, which I respond ānoā because I never have in the past, he proceeds to poke my gums with so much force that he is hurting me and making my gums bleed. As he is checking my gums he said ābloodā, ābloodā, and after the fourth time I had him stop his exam because he was hurting me so much which is why there was blood. Next day when I went to a different dentist there was NO blood in any of my gums and I believe they were trying to get extra money out of me and my insurance, as well as, he was hitting so hard he was causing blood.
I would avoid this place at all costs, they were extremely rude and unhelpful, but worse off all caused more pain and suffering during an already scaring time. If you can go to a different dentist go to them because Sage will offer the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am so upset about service from Sage Dental at Siesta Key. We had hygienist Gido Castro. He was the reasons I left 10 min into my appointment and not coming back to this place ever. Over the past 8 months Iāve dealt with a rude female employee that wouldnāt let me go back with my minor son. Saying itās not necessary and rolling her eyes and saying whatever when I insisted on being with him. It my right. I also asked what was going on back there and they said heās being treated. So I called him on his cell phone to find out itās been 30 min and heās sitting all alone. So I went back anyways. I complained. Another time we had another female assistant who had attitude, put those blacks blocks in your mouth for X-rays super hard. I complained about her too. Now thisā¦Gido Castro, the hygienist, called me back and started measuring my gum recession (this was just done last time). He was so rough, poking my gums hard. I taste iron because Iām bleeding. I say that hurts, I ask him to be more gentle, I ask him why we are doing this again and can we just get to the cleaning. But he didnāt stop and argued he HAD to do this. He just kept going until I sat up and said no. Mind you, my teeth look and feel great. No canaries. Just need a cleaning. Then he starts saying one of my tooth has a gap ( you canāt see) and I could lose a tooth if he doesnāt do this diagnostic. He kept saying he needs to diagnose me. What? Iām there for a cleaning and you just did all this last time! Are they just trying to find something to up charge? Itās like Iām getting my oil changed and they tell me I need to 5 other things done (you know the old dirty filter scam), to get more money. Why is the dentist being run like a car repair shop? I walked out. Donāt go here. They are rude, not gentle, donāt respect the patients wishes, and try to get money where it shouldnāt be given. There are so many dentist in Sarasota. Avoid Sage Dental.
Iāve read other reviews and itās the same complaints! Rude staff, unprofessional and extortionists. Hmmmm. The responses from Sage Dental are comical. āWe are so sorry to hear that!ā Lol clearly you do nothing to fix this and donāt care. Donāt respond to me. I donāt want youāre sorry to hear that. Do something. This is clearly a problem. And the response seems like they are going to do something if you email them. Again, comical. Iām just glad to be done...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe entire experience was terrible from start to finish. First of all, I spoke on the phone with a representative twice before I made the appointment. They informed me that the consultation, x-rays, and cleaning were included in the price.
I was then talked into a āpackageā which offered reduced rates on services. Well. When I entered the clinic, I was the only person there, yet it took them almost ten minutes to locate the records that I had already filled out online. I was then badgered into a reduced cost scheme that nobody could even explain to me properly, or what it included.
I then attempted to give them a cash payment and they didnāt have enough change in petty cash. They suggested that I go to the pet store next-door to break a bill. So, I had to buy something so that I didnāt look like an asshole. Not good.
Then, I come back over there and I am sat in the waiting room for a while. Again, I am the only person in the place. Eventually, I go back for x-rays. The person doing the x-rays spoke barely any English. So there was a huge barrier there. They were literally handing me business cards and post it notes to write down the names of the medications that Iām allergic to. Not professional at all, and very disconcerting. A āmedical professionalā unable to understand, spell, and pronounce the medications that you are severely allergic to? Come on.
Iāve never had a painful experience just having x-rays, but this was very uncomfortable. Then, the dentist comes in and pokes around at my mouth for about one minute and then informs me that I need a bunch of orthodontic care and that it would make my lips look better. What the heck does that mean? Iām not there for aesthetics. She said I didnāt need a cleaning though because I have kept my teeth so nicely. Then, when I go to check out, which took another ten minutes, I was presented with a ātreatment planā.
The cleaning they offered me at the ānice discountā price of $270 from $600+. Wow, what a deal! For a cleaning. That the doctor just told me I did not need. I feel like I was led down the path with this and I am not happy at all. I will never return, nor would I recommend this...
