Bishops’ Storehouse — Local services in Saratoga Springs

I was laid off six months ago and we've been blessed to be able to get food from the storehouse since. Please don't take this as being ungrateful. However, the hours being so incredibly limited are like pouring lemon juice on a papercut. I miss having a fulltime job because then my work was limited to 40-45 hours/week. Trying to find a job in this market is so many more hours, but it's unpaid. Every job I apply to has well over 100 applicants, so I'm having to put in significantly more legwork to try and get noticed per job I apply to. My wife has also had to take on more hours. All she wanted to be was a stay at home mom that didn't have to work on anything else but raising righteous, balanced, well educated kids, etc., and making sure my income stretched as far as possible. She has taken a part time job and taken more hours, on top of homemaking and homeschooling and demanding callings, etc. etc. etc.

All this to say, today she got to the storehouse 5 minutes after they closed at 2pm and they don't open again for two days. She had one meal today, I had 1 1/2 meals today, because we were late getting our food order in (our RS president forgot and we did too for a couple days), and our fridge is empty.

We're struggling to live with all the stresses we have and then to show up a few minutes after the storehouse closes at the most unreasonable time possible of 2pm... today it just hit really hard and made things just that much more stressful and...

Allergic to mushrooms. We got spaghetti sauce from the store house. On the paper it says nothing about having mushrooms in it nor does it have that on the packaging. We put it in the spaghetti only to find out that it has them. Come to find out in really small print the second to last ingredient is mushrooms. I have never bought spaghetti sauce anywhere that has mushrooms in it. Normally it says it right on the front...
