Coastal Run Maine — Local services in Scarborough

So on Aug 21st I was sitting on a beach in Wells, visiting w/ family from NY. Having been on a fitness kick, I looked around the beach (and then at my gut), and realized I needed to step it up. I packed up my gear, Googled ‘running shoes near me’ and drove 30m to this store. I had only done some minor running in previous years, so Alex helped me get fitted into a pair of Topo Phantom 4’s. I drove back to hotel and started that evening a ‘couch to 5k’ program. Yesterday I completed my first real 5k(did one once before w my daughter, but w no training, and was very much overweight then). Yesterday, this 54 yr old newbie came in at 27:38 and in the training process, had lost around 7 lbs and about 2 inches from waist. (Highly recommend the couch to 5k programs). I was impressed with the individualized attention and recommendations Alex gave me. I have had a few health issues that altered my gait and activities over the past few years. I recently got my hip replacement and have the other issues under control to the point that I want to return to being active without injuries. Alex examined my gait, noted what support would most likely be best for me.
