Eight of us showed up and chose the table under the awning in the back under what we found out later was the "take out" area. We really liked this spot because it was dim and much quieter than the more lively and very bright bar area. However, we sat a long time not knowing there was no service there. Finally I went out to seek assistance and was informed that we had to order at the take out counter there. After that it was very confusing since we all had to go up and order and then go to bar and get drinks, though we were then informed we could order drinks at the take out counter. Everyone was very friendly, very accommodating, excellent service after a mishap. I really wish you would just make all the tables part of the waited service area, all the take out tables remained empty while we were there, who orders take out and then sits at the table, it seems illogical. The food was delicious but the ordering process was crazy disorganized and detracted from our little celebratory event. If only it was all just waited tables, I think I would do another occasion there, however I would not want to sit in the noisy overly bright bar area with a party of eight and try to have conversation, give our gifts etc. Can't you just make it all one restaurant that is served by the wait staff? It's too bad, one of the waiters could have had a nice big tip. The food was very good and the beer choices were great, the prices very reasonable. Just need to fix the layout and the atmosphere (tone down the lights on the bar side). Also, we couldn't figure out which was the appropriate door to enter and exit. Read moreI process online food orders from Romeos in Scarborough and feel I must finally review the quality of the food. I never know if the quality will be acceptable. I love steak and cheese subs but there are times when the subs are very good and other times when they are a greasy soggy disaster. I seriously don’t understand why the quality of the prepared food varies so much. The menu lists fresh mushrooms but there are times when I know they are using canned mushrooms that make the bread soggy and disgusting. I ordered a taco salad for pick up one day and received a metal container filled with nacho chips smothered in gelatinous cheese with approximately a quarter cup of lettuce on top. This is certainly not my idea of a salad which was over priced at $10 plus tip for curbside delivery. When I order a build your own calzone I always order the sauce on the side, nine times out of ten the order comes without the sauce. I’ve tried to call the owner to discuss these issues but he never answers the phone. I don’t like posting negative reviews however I feel at this point in time it’s the only way to bring this to the owner’s attention. I just spoke with the manager of the Scarborough location because for whatever reason the owner won’t answer his phone. When I reviewed my issues regarding the quality of the food and not having my order fulfilled correctly, his response was “ ya we f... up”. Read moreWe ordered a large pizza with Hamburg, mushroom and onion at 8:09 pm on 5/30/24. The taste of the pizza when eating it was not as good as one would expect for $25.55 with taxes. The toppings were very little. An hour and one half later after eating this pizza, we both got sick. Our stomachs were upset and were hurting. Later on that night we had more symptoms. We called the Scarborough store and asked to speak to the mgr. It was stated that we would need to call another number. We called the number and there was no voice mail and no answer. We called the Scarborough store back and was told that it was a busy time that’s why no one answered the phone and to call back tomorrow 6/1/24. Also, it was stated by an employee at the Scarborough store that we would not get a refund as we should have called before this and it’s been a few days since you got the pizza. The pizza was bought on 5/30/24.. the call was placed on 5/31/24… a few days?? So whereas a call was not placed on 5/30/24, we are not entitled to a refund from a pizza that clearly made us sick?? Also, we did not start getting sick until 10:30 pm on 5/30/24 after ingesting this pizza.
