Oak Hill Ace Hardware — Local services in Scarborough

Show I am writing this post in somewhat of sadness. If you will I am an absolute frequent flyer at Ace Hardware both at Oak Hill and Dunstan. I know they owned by the same exact owners and every time I’ve gone to Ace Hardware I’ve had nothing but an exceptional, exceptional experience the staff is absolutely incredible, their knowledge and expertise is always helpful and I absolutely love going to a local hardware store where people tend to know you better and you are providing money to a local business unlike the big box stores like Lowe’s or Home Depot. However, today I went into the Oak Hill Ace Hardware and purchased a bunch of yeti’s and a bunch of other stuff that I needed which totaled about $300 during my time in there I realize I had to go to the bathroom quite bad I ran into a woman who had an Ace Hardware tag and said, is there any way possible I could use your bathroom we do not have a bathroom you’ll have to go over to Walgreens now come on people I know you have a bathroom. You also know that I am a 100% frequent flyer there I’ve got $300 worth of merchandise in my cart yet this woman had the absolute audacity to say they have no bathrooms at all in the building which is just an outright lie because I was literally looking through an opening and saw the bathroom right there but maybe she could’ve said well. We don’t have a public bathroom but the real thing is going to the big box stores. They do have restroom there and you can use them but I like to buy local and do local, I’m really really sad that I had to post this but her attitude and the way she confronted me was absolutely unacceptable. I love Ace Hardware I want to continue doing business with Ace Hardware . I think their staff is amazing but this particular woman which I believe she is a manager at that Oak Hill location Had a rotten attitude and by the way couldn’t even look at me in the eyes, she was putting stuff on a shelf and shouted...

I easily placed an online order for curbside pick up. Nice. The order confirmation said to be sure to wait for email that indicated my order was ready. 3 days later I called to see what was up. Helpful associate Tyler confirmed it was ready(today). When I arrive there is a sign up front for “curbside only”, which I misunderstood to be a parking area. I called to let them know I arrived. Was told they would be there when they could get to me. After 1 minute, An associate of girth yelled at me to move my car because I was blocking traffic. Well okay. I understand that, I had only been idling for a minute and didn’t think I would be there that long, but there was absolutely no reason for the manner in which I was treated. I will go to another store going forward. Not this location ever more.

I am still waiting for someone to come out going on 10 minutes now. No acknowledgment and now others being served that...

This store has the best customer service ever! I was visiting from NY to install and set up a restored vintage gas stove made by Garland. It go pretty bumped around by the moving company so there were some hardware that needed replacing. Ace Hardware had what I needed and their team made it a really fast visit by showing me where things were and helping me find everything.

I really couldn't have asked for better service. After all they call me the Stove Lady and I am known for impeccable customer service and attention to detail. I love what I do and stick by my work.
