I purchased a canada goose from this location yesterday 1/14. I came back to the store today because it had scuff marks, loose threads, and the garment bag they placed the jacket in covered it fully in lint. I asked them if they could return or exchange it. The girl working in the coats department was a younger blond girl whose name I unfortunately didnât get. She goes to the back to get her manager then comes out and tells me thereâs nothing she can do for me because the jacket is in terrible condition and her manager is on a call. I explained to her that is the exact reason I am bringing it back because yesterday after briefly trying it on the sales associate took the jacket from me immediately and placed it in the garment back. I purchased a couple minutes (about 40) before they closed and didnât open it out of the garment bag till this morning which is when I noticed its condition. She laughed at me then told me she would get me another manager. The manager, Margot, comes out and repeats a speech about hey they donât return or exchange designer items. She said the jacket had been roughly worn and she wonât be taking it back. I again explained that I did not wear it, it still had the tags attached, and the horrible condition of the jacket is why I brought it back the next day. Her and the other girl continued laughing, smirking, rolling their eyes, side eyeing me, and proceeding to say âno one returns designer itemsâ and âthis would be a loss to our companyâ, and then proceeding to accuse me of wearing it. A $1500 jacket, in horrible condition, that shouldâve never been on the floor anyway, isnât a loss to me?
They proceed to give me a managers number and then bag the jacket and hand it back to me. As I walk away, I glimpse at them laughing then the Margot saying âdonât worry about it, people are crazyâ.
I proceed to call corporate and explain what happened. They told me they return and exchange designer items all of the time and that the associates were wrong for their response and behaviour. They said the item was likely defective and if the tags were attached, along with the receipt, they should have proceeded with either a return or exchange. They then tell me that unless there was siginificant tears to the jacket, i only had it for one night which does not justify any minor damage to be my fault, so even if they argued I had worn it (even though I literally did not, only when I tried it on) that still doesnât concern the return policy. Anyways, corporate made it right.
The return or exchange not happening is not the issue. Itâs the attitude of margot and her blonde associate, who couldnât seem more stuck up if they tried. To treat a member customer like this, who frequently shops at Nordstrom, is absurd. Learn some respect and how to treat people. Not ridicule them for something that was the...
Read moreTried shopping here twice on different occasions, and both times I felt uncomfortable and alienated by the employees. First time I was shopping, one sales associate kept hovering around me, and when she actually came up to me to ask if I needed any help, it was in a tone that felt like she might as well have told me to leave. That was my first time shopping there, for maybe 10 minutes of browsing, until I felt unwanted there. Today, as Iâm writing this, decided to check out the perfumes as Iâm in the area. I was with my father, and as I was looking at the testers and had sprayed one on a test strip, I turned around to accidentally lock eyes with an employee. It wasnât a coincidence either, she just stood there facing me, staring at me. As we both left, my father remarked, âthat employee was staring at usâ. I quickly turned back around, as one does when accidentally making eye contact with a stranger, and kept looking at the perfumes. After a little bit, I begin to leave, but return to take note of a specific perfume I enjoyed. I took a couple moments examining the bottle, smelling the test strip, etc., all while very literally I was like less than a foot away from the person that stared at me. She was having casual conversation with another employee. She did notice me come back, and I know this because when I went to reach for the tester bottle on the shelf, she moved a smidge away so I wouldnât have to reach around her. Both employees at that menâs perfume section did not bother talking to me, not even a hello. I work in retail, and although the store I work at caters to a different, broader, demographic, the experiences Iâve had would very likely have a customer complaining to a manager at the store I work. Seriously, thereâs no reason for this treatment of a customer, other than profiling me or thereâs just a general lack of customer...

I love shopping at Nordstrom but had a super exceptional experience in Menâs Fragrance with Bari.
Nordstrom Menâs fragrance offers many great options. Bari was very instrumental in helping me find the perfect fragrance for a friend. She was very personable, took her time and introduced me to many options within what I wanted to spend and what the scent profiles were. She looked up many items on her phone for me too! If you go, ask for Bari as she knows her menâs fragrances very well and will make up your perfect gifts!
I ended up getting Christian Dior Savage which she gift boxed with the Dior bag and put some nice samples in there as well. It was a very nice gift that my friend really loved. A week later he texted me that he was getting soo many compliments on the scent. Thanks Bari - you made this gift giving perfect for me! âââââââââ Nordstrom at Woodfield Mall has always been a great place to shop. They offer a large variety of styles and racks are nicely filled but not overly packed. Most departments are fully stocked but some departments like home and plus size womenâs have minimal selections. However, they can get you anything they donât have on the floor and they do ship it for free to your home.
Their restaurant on the 3rd floor is a hidden gem! It serves alcohol and has a culinary chef that creates delicious seasonal items. The food is really good and itâs peaceful and quiet! Everything from salads, burgers, main entrees and deserts!
They also have a nice barista offering quick bites and gourmet coffee drinks called Ebar. (1st floor directly inside the mall with seating area)
Parking is a breeze no matter what the weather is as itâs covered on the first floor. There is 2nd floor parking as well. The store is always spotless and fashion...
