There was a lady, named Pam, working on the checkout counter by the Liz Claiborne women's clothing area at the JCPenny store at Woodfield mall in Schaumburg today around 3pm and I approached her nicely to ask a question about an exchange I had to do. Before I even asked the question, she told me to go downstairs to return the item. I then told her that I am trying to exchange and not return the item so she replied by saying we don't carry that anymore in the store. I told her that she didn't even see the item that is in the bag so how can she assume it's not available anymore. So her reply was.."I told you we don't have it, so I can't help you!" Then I stepped like 10 ft away from her register and found like 25 pairs of the same item. I took it up to her and told her that I found the item and showed it her just to let her know that it's available and she gave me the wrong message obviously. I was polite and wasn't rude at all. Pam replied to me by saying, "good for you that you found it, god bless you, now leave!" That's when I got upset and asked her for her name so I can speak to a manager about her behavior. She refused to give her name and told me to leave her alone and also said get out of the store. The other lady at the counter felt bad and even offered to help me so Pam told her not to help. I got upset and asked another associate, Joey, to call for a manager. He called for a manager and after 20 minutes of waiting the store manager showed up. His name was Rey and I explained the whole situation to him. He said he will speak to her and take care of the issue. I made it clear that I will never go to that store again and will make sure everyone I know doesn't go either. He apologized on her behalf but I will never accept an apology from someone who didn't even have anything to do with this. He shouldn't need to apologize for a low class lady who has no respect for others. I can't believe a place like JCPenny has hired a lady like that. She shouldn't be working anywhere with an attitude like that. I hope they take action and not let this matter go to waste. Corporate will also get a call...
Read moreOld Indian guy was BEGGING me to sign up for a JCPenney Credit Card. I get it, the employees have to meet a quota and/or are encouraged to get customers to sign up. But after politely declining, he insisted and even played the ethnic card, telling me in Hindi that he gets nothing out of it and he’s just trying to help a brother out. Trusting his word, I went ahead and signed up.
Later, he acted COMPLETELY brand new. There was a sweater that was marked down to be 25% off the original price. Not noticing that it rang up as original price, I asked him if he can apply a coupon. He said no, because that sweater brand is excluded. Which is fair, I checked and that brand was in fact excluded. But after that, he just jumped on the “no” train and just kept saying no to everything. I said not even with my JCPenney Card? “No”. Can I apply my points towards it? “No”. Then I noticed that the sweater was showing the wrong price when he rang up and that it’s supposed to be 25% off, I even insisted walking over to that section and showing him. Guess what he said? “No.”
I ended up going to a different register. The lady was a lot less stubborn and at least heard me out. I told her I can show her where I found the sweater and she said she knows where they’re located so she went ahead and led the way. Lo and behold, she saw that they were in fact 25% off and so she manually applied that towards the sweater.
If you come here, choose your registers wisely. For sure avoid the one close to the Men’s Nike section, since that’s where that stubborn old...
Read moreBought a wedding ring for my soon to be wife in the beginning of July. We where getting married in August. They stated that the sizing was going to be done before our date and we will get a call when to come pick it up. Wedding day passes by, still no ring. We chalked it up to our late planning , was not a big deal. Used a cheap substitute in the mean time. September passes and on October we still have not received the ring. We call the store they say there in no ring there and to call customer service. Customer service says to call the store. we end up calling our bank to reverse the charges due to no one giving us an answer on if and when we will receive the ring. I woke up this morning 11/16 and the bank reversed the refund. Called the bank and they stated that JCPenney said we walked out of the store with the product on date of purchase. This is a complete lie. We never left the store with more than a receipt. On top of everything we still don't have the wedding ring we picked out. No one from customer service or the actual store can give me a straight answer on where the ring is. this is a complete waste of time and effort. I refuse to pay for a product I...
