Today was not my day. Me, my boyfriend, and my younger sibling were seated at the booth by the busser and dirty dishes station behind the half wall/ divider. We started ordering and got taken care of well when first start. Then we started to hear loud noises, slamming sounds from bus tubs (for dirty plates) multiple of times, until the last one was the loudest one (like out of emotional or anger from a worker) then we all jumped, and I jumped. At this point, I lost my appetite and became very angry and emotional. So I asked to see a manager, the server then asked if something was wrong, i told her it’s not her, it’s the people who work behind the divider. Then I got to speak with the floor manager Alex, he offered to move us to another table, but it wasn’t the solution, i wanted to get my points across that workers can calm down a little, do not work with anger or emotions by slamming objects. Alex then talked back and raised his voice a little, not professional, but I asked him 3 times, are you the big boss, I need to see a GM, a general manager. Then few minutes later, Ryan came over to talk, he witnessed the noise and slamming himself. I wanted to leave, I couldn’t leave fast enough. I wanted to wrap all the food home. We still had to wait for food. My heart was beating fast because it was very emotional, and as i am typing here my heart is pounding because this is the first time in my life this event happened to me. I have never complained in my life. I told Ryan i dont want to owe anyone. He did tell me that there will not be any bill, he took care of it. i told the server to Meet me in the front lobby, i wanted to pay. I paid in cash $114 i tipped my server $30. I yelled at the hosts, “do not seat customers by the kitchen”. I was embarrassed. I was frustrated. Other customers looked at me like i am a fool. All i wanted was a peaceful dinner, and someone to step forward to apologize for the loud noise and slamming and making sure it doesn’t occur. The people who get to sit there after us is going to experience the same issues. I was really upset like no words can explain. My blood pressure was raised and I was not happy at all. Not to mention on young male server who talked back to from my first approach, he responded to me noone works out of anger here we work in a fast pace here. Then I said I understand, but can you please calm down. And i sat back down and tried to calm down from my first approach. I also don’t want to mention that maybe this is how seatings work, minorities or non-Caucasians get to sit at bad tables. There was a black family siting right across the walkway to that busser station and they witnessed the whole thing while everything was happening. I have lived in Chicago and suburbs area 23 years, I have been going to this location countless of times. I am really sad that an event today happened to me. Thank you for...
Read moreA few months ago, we went to the Lincolnshire Cheesecake Factory. My husband and I had a perfect meal. Service, atmosphere, food, everything was spot on. Our daughter flew in from Arizona tonight. We haven’t seen her in months so we wanted a special meal tonight. We picked the Cheesecake Factory in Schaumburg. We were seated right away and we all cringed to see a huge filthy mess on the floor next to us. Even cutlery was on the floor. A big pile of something sat there. Very disconcerting. I went to the bathroom. Equally filthy. The handicapped stall was occupied by three giggling teenagers so I had to use a regular stall. Not an easy thing when handicapped and there is nothing to hang on to. Back to the table, my husband had ordered lemonade for us. After 10 minutes, rock hard bread arrived. I do mean rock hard. 15 minutes after that, the lemonade finally arrived. Our order was not taken at that time. We had a serious discussion about leaving but my husband wanted to stay. Finally our order are taken, but not by our waitress. Instead, a nice, friendly waiter took our order, noting that I needed to have very mild fish tacos and I cannot eat any cilantro. 20 minutes or more two salads arrived. My fish tacos and my daughter’s French fries were missing. I waited. And waited. They finished their salads. Finally my fish tacos arrive. COVERED in cilantro. Our waitress had finally brought this dish to me, daughter and husband almost finished with their meals. She took the tacos back. French fries are still missing. After about another 20 minutes, my second attempt for fish tacos finally arrived. Inedible. So spicey I couldn’t eat it. I told her to bring the manager. After more than 10 minutes he arrived. We showed him the still filthy floor with the cutlery lying there, showed him the rock hard bread, my inedible meal. Her fries finally arrived just before the manager arrived, with my second try with the fish tacos. He apologized and comped the fish tacos and fries. He offered us dessert. Now I wish I had him comp the whole meal and forget the dessert. The cheesecake was so old it slimy! I tried to eat some when we got home because I was hungry, hadn’t eaten anything at CF. Not even rock hard bread. I am 70 years old. I guess I can now say we had the worst food and worst overall dining experience in my entire 70 years. I was appalled that the two salads and two lemonades came to almost $60 even with the tacos and fries comped. My husband tipped half of what he normally tips. In retrospect, we should have been able to leave without owing anything. Our entire meal and time together was destroyed. That makes me angrier than the dirty restaurant, horrible service and bad food. My precious time with my daughter was spoiled...
Read moreUnpopular opinion: If I dont order cheesecake after my meal, this is a 5 star review. Anyways, The Cheesecake Factory is a nice restaurant with a surprisingly massive menu and the food is of nice quality. We stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday and were seated immediately. It was rather slow. I did like the interior decor. It feels much more lavish than it really is. A shot into the wild blue, I ordered the Chicken Mediera and was very pleased. A very unique and enjoyable flavor to this. A bit on the salty side, but the red wine mushroom sauce was perfect for the (skin in) mashed potatoes and a just thick enough consistency to sop up with the chicken. I can see why this dish is labeled as their "most popular chicken dish". It's a 5 star dish, no doubt about it. My sons macaroni and cheese was maybe slightly above average. The portion was certainly large enough. But I feel it had an ever so slightly powdery taste to it. TCF is well known for their brown bread, which I believe is a sweet seeded brown wheat. Normally it's served warm, here it was room temperature and completely overshadowed by the crispy sourdough that came with it. That sourdough had an extremely bold taste that is just ideal for that kind of bread. My girlfriend ordered a chicken salad sandwich. She said it was good, definitely larger than she expected. She couldn't even finish it. Our waitress was nice, friendly, and personable. We didn't get her name though to include here.
To me, the chain is hurt by its name, which implies that cheesecake is definitively what they're known for. Which it does not deliver on. There's really nothing aside from a single case near the hostess that shows you that cheesecake is their thing. Which to me, is a missed opportunity to really capitalize on the name. Nextly, while there's a vast amount of options of it, the cheesecake here is beyond overrated. It's just mid grade for me. Lastly, when someone asks me what I think about Cheesecake Factory, it always boils down to what I remember about their cheesecake, which is unfortunate because of the other positive things this place has to offer like their plus grade quality or their expansive menu options or the nice ambiance this particular restaurant has. Instead, I'll remember I had a slice of Vanilla Bean Cheesecake that tasted like regular cheesecake that cost me $10. As critical as some of this sounded, I did have a lovely meal here and would return...
