I was charged the original price $7.45 for the chicken drumstick. I told two cashiers about it, apparently they “contacted” their manager and told me the machine is right and I’m wrong, and it’s actually $1.49 lbs. Which I don’t care if they are a penny or $100, if it’s too expensive I just won’t buy it. I was simply trying to point out the mistake, but they were treating me and my wife very rudely rolling their eyes and not even trying to listen to single words I was saying. First of all, you don’t tell an Asian man that their math is wrong. Second of all, the sign says “SAVE $5.96”. $5.96 subtracted from the original price $7.45 is $1.49, which would make sense if they were selling the bag for $1.49 or else the sign is wrong. Lastly, let’s say the drumsticks were $1.49, sure. So you are selling them for more than double of price compared to the chicken leg quarter that’s practically the same cut of meat which is also from same manufacturer? Again I don’t care if I don’t get it for the price I wanted, but the sign is wrong and I don’t know why I was treated so poorly for their own mistake. Don’t blame me for your poor math skill. I’m not from Chicago area, but in other cities not everyone is assholes, so don’t assume I am one of you. I was just trying to help.
Update: Okay I just saw that it quite literally says $0.30 per lbs at bottom right. Now I know the two cashier and the manager is completely wrong, I was poorly treated for no reason for being right. Which I doubt they even gotten hold of the manager the first place. Don’t assume ppl are stupid. It will bite your own...
Read moreI ordered 40 fresh oysters from this market today and upon arrival, I started shucking them. Mind you, I did this through Uber eats and within the hour the were delivered, so this was NOT a delivery-time related issue. I noticed firstly, that they were NOT delivered on ice. This is a HUGE FOOD SAFETY ISSUE. Anyone who has common sense is aware of that. The actual container itself is a cardboard type material wrapped in seran. Here’s the bad part- 4 of the oysters were DARK GREY. Meaning they were EXTREMELY spoiled. They had a putrid smell my entire kitchen soaked up. I wasn’t even able to take a photo of the oyster but it looked dark gray with about 70% transparency. Needless to say, I threw away the entire batch because a few bad oysters can EASILY leak spoiled fluid to the rest of the batch. Tony’s Market I am genuinely disappointed and pissed off at the level of negligence regarding food safety. For Christ sake - at least deliver with ice. I hope you take this feedback and actually CHANGE your safety protocols, as well as training your employees to actually have knowledge around food safety. This is a huge issue that could cost someone’s health or life if they were to even eat one without seeing the rest of the batch, and that...
Read moreFood critic here once again. Poor service if I do say so. Only 1 cashier with a line behind me. To top it off every person behind me went to another cashier that had opened up eventually. Everyone that was behind me left before me. Go figure huh? That means something is wrong right. Of course there is. Cashier rung me up to only keep waiting some more because the register said over 21 which I never bought alcohol fyi. Then to top it off my groceries kept piling up and piling up on each other that my bread and fruit got smashed. Its called common sense. Stop the belt, hello. Then to really top it off there was no bagger. The cashier herself bagged all my smashed items. Where is the hospitality? Where is the customer service? What ever happened to say hello and thank you? None of that was ever brought up. Just there for a paycheck that's all. First time shame on me for ever giving you a chance. But no worries this first time was enough for me to not ever spend here again!!!...
