Scam pricing. Go to a corporate Verizon store instead. I learned the hard way that this store is an affiliate store. The store signage does not indicate so - only a small sticker on the hours sticker on the door - which I would not have even known what it meant had I had seen it. This corrupt Victra store is on Seal Beach Blvd. They told me the ONLY way to get my upgrade deal was to purchase an āessential packageā. AND to pay them a slew of fees. Larry even said, āDid you expect to get a phone for free with your upgrade?ā Putting me down when I questioned the charges, as if I were trying to cheat the system.
I questioned and questioned the charges and fees. They charged about $300 for products you could buy elsewhere for about $120. They tell you that you cannot do your upgrade Verizon deal without purchasing cases, screen protectors, wall plugs, car charger - all of which I didnāt like, need, nor want. A screen protector you could buy for $15-$30, they charged $66.99. A USB-c wall plug which retails everywhere for $9.99, they charged $36.99. A car charger they charged $46.99!
And, they would not give me a list of these charges. Told me it would be in my account. Which the real Verizon said was not there. No charges or receipt was entered into my Verizon account. I only found them out the next day when the real Verizon sent me back to the store to demand a receipt for the $857.26 they had charged me for 2 phone upgrades. Verizon corporate had me return everything and demand my money back. This store kept $100 for restocking the 2 iPhones.
To understand the difference, the real Verizon, which eventually did my upgrade, charged me tax on the iPhone and $35 upgrade fee for each line. Thatās it.
This Victra store is a scam. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Oh and I found out today, a week after they issued me a refund for $757.26, that they cancelled the refund with my credit card company. So they kept all my money, and now I have to dispute the charge with my credit card company- because Verizon corporate canāt do anything about it since this is really not Verizonā¦
Also, be aware that I found on the receipt I got that they charged a $39.99 āset up and go feeā per phone, which is free of charge at a corporate Verizon store.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreEasily the worst in-store Verizon experience I've ever had. I swung by to buy a new phone after being sent from the Katella Verizon because they did not have the exact model I was looking for. Michael told me they could not sell me a phone in stock because everything they have has to be sold through a bundle that included a phone case, a screen protector, and a charging station, none of which I needed. He advised that there was a way to circumvent this bundle by placing the order online for pick up at their location, the caveat being I'd have to wait about half an hour for the order to process. I do it that way, wait the 30 minutes, get the email notification that the phone is ready for pick up, and I return to the store. Michael then tells me that there is some issue with their system and that although he was able to mark the phone as "picked up," he was unable to "tender" it and release the phone to me. He spent some time on the phone with a few different Verizon support lines, none of which are able to help him because the phone was marked as picked up so they couldn't cancel it, before having me call the online internet order support line to have them cancel the order so I can place a new one. Michael then leaves the store and leaves Raymond as the sole rep available with several customers in wait. Raymond gets into an argument with the support person because he has other customers waiting and the support person was asking him for different account ID/number details that would take him time to pull up, but moreso I gather because these other customers he is probably getting a commission on because they purchased the bundle. All in all I wasted over 3 hours of my life to not get a new phone and now my phone plan has been upgraded to a new plan (as part of a promotion to get a new phone), my line says I have installments due for a new phone I did not receive, and they told me that I won't be able to put a new order in until they process the ticket and have all of these changes undone. I'll add that Raymond was very nice and professional and made the whole experience less terrible but I was still made to feel like this was my problem to deal with even though their was some error with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Worst! If you're looking for a business model of how not to run a cell phone business, this, independent Verizon retailer is exactly what you're looking for.
Upon meeting the owner/manager, he offered me a great way to upgrade my phone. Problem was they didn't have a phone in the store but that was easily fixed. He would go to another facility and get the phone and call me later in the day and I could come and pick it up that afternoon. He, no one, ever called. So, I called several times in morning the next day. The owner/manager would never come to the phone nor would he return my calls. So, I went to the store and said to another sales person, "What's up?" He replied, "Here's the phone! Let me get it activated" Guess what, they couldn't get the phone activated. I said ok, get out another phone and activate it. They replied, "There isn't another phone." Instead of saying, "Sir, we'll get another phone in here this afternoon and get this all set up for you, they just said, "that's it, we don't have another phone like this and then proceeded to try and shift some other, completely different kind phone, onto me, which I rejected.
All the while my saga is going on, the lady next to me was in a tither with another sales person. Seems she bought a phone that was having problems and she had brought it into the store on multiple occasions, and today when she came to see if the problems where fixed, she found out they had sold her phone.
If you're looking for cell phone drama, capped with incompetency galore, you come to the right place.
I'm just saying, if you're looking to expand your communication horizons and are considering doing it with this store, beware...
