Needed a railing for stairs following a serpentine course up from the sidewalk to our home that we are putting on the market. Naturally, we wanted a quality solution that would make a positive first impression on prospective buyers without being a "you'll never get back what you put into that" addition. I looked at any number of prefabricated railings - none of them matched the 1920s style of the house and, anyway, would have been an awkward fit to the winding path. Well, these guys nailed it: the gorgeous, custom railing they constructed follows the stairs beautifully. And, Todd listened, thought it through, and came up with a cost-effective approach: the prefab alternative in materials would have been half the cost of this - and then there would have been the labor, so I expect where we ended up is with an elegant custom solution costing no more than an ugly headache....

Can I give six stars? We recently had custom railings made for our front steps and an upper deck, and I couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. The team took so much care with every detail, from planning through installation. They thoughtfully helped us navigate the design process, arriving at the right balance of utility, aesthetics, and budget. The railings turned out absolutely beautiful; the craftsmanship is evident in every weld (in fact, each weld is given individual attention to ensure 100% coverage when powder-coated!). These guys are phenomenal. Amazing customer service and beautiful custom railings. I had several bids and was on a tight budget. This wasn't an optional project - I had to get railings on a set of new concrete stairs to meet code (the old concrete stairs were cracked, failing, no railing - scary/dangerous). Blackbird Iron & Design gave me suggestions about how we could get creative on the fabrication and pricing, were honest about where we couldn't change the price, and we were able to make it work. While they were waiting for the railings to set, the installation crew even ran to the hardware store to buy an o-ring to fix something on my hose. Six stars.
