They are reopen again after Phase 1.5 of the Safe Start plan was approved! I have been eagerly waiting 4 months to get my hair cut again and it was almost bliss when I got my haircut finally. I have been coming here for years now and will continue to support Huong as long as she is open. Her cuts have been exactly what I wanted every time and she doesn't miss a step. If you are a regular, she will remember what you like and personalize it for you. I appreciate her friendliness and great work ethic. The price is also very fair for the service she delivers and I highly recommend her for all your hair needs.

Huong is currently the only one working as her co-worker is staying away due to COVID concerns, so there will likely be a wait. She reopened the first possible date, and even before the 10 AM opening time, there was a waitlist for people to get their hair cut. This just shows how much her customers support and are loyal to her. The waitlist was essentially a notebook outside the store where you write down your name and number to get in the queue. It is still first come, first served, with no appointments necessary, but due to the sheer number of customers and her doing all the work, if you want to get your hair cut as soon as possible, I recommend showing up 30 mins - 1 hour before opening time to get on the list. You will be required to wear a mask at all times during the service and in the store, but it should not impede her work. You can also buy a mask from her if you forget. She has barriers up at the cash register and has a stringent cleaning protocol in place. She will disinfect all her tools and the haircutting cape after each customer, and clean up the chair right away. She rotates this equipment to give it ample time to disinfect as well. Only about 2-3 are allowed to sit/wait in the salon if needed, otherwise it is recommended to wait elsewhere until it is your turn. The prices have gone up, but by a very fair amount, and it is still a value that you can't beat. Overall, she runs an excellent salon with great understanding for the current COVID restrictions. I have never left a review before, but I want to warn everyone about getting haircuts. It’s essential to explain in detail what you want, or show the picture if you can, because the lady who cut my hair seemed to lack the understanding of what a proper haircut should be. If she was unsure, she should have asked me instead of just cutting it. After she cut my hair in a way I didn’t want, she said, “You should have told me before,” without offering any apology.

I feel embarrassed every day because she cut my bangs so short that it makes me look foolish. I understand that mistakes can happen, but one should be able to sense when a customer isn’t happy. Is that how you talk to your customers?

I can’t help but cringe when I look in the mirror, praying for my hair to grow back soon. As women, we understand how important our hairstyle is. If not, I could just cut my hair myself without interrupting your business.

There are two ladies who cut hair at this salon. One of them is good and the prices are reasonable, which is why I kept coming back—even though I feel they cut men's hair better than women's. I love Lake City Hair Salon!! The women who work here do a fantastic job and are so kind and good hearted :). I’ve always felt comfortable coming here as a gender fluid person. The pricing is listed as gendered but I’ve always been charged based on service (just sides shaved = “mens” price; hair length cut/trimmed = “womens”) and i have never felt pressured to make any changes that I don’t want to. One time when my hair was chest length they asked if I wanted to cut it. That day I said no, which they respected. but then I went home, realized I would actually look better with shoulder length hair, and went back a few days later to cut it and tell them they were right :).
