Update: They have a variety of dishes to choose from. Their cook is talented and fantastic. I have tried out most of the dishes. The following is a more detailed review.
S tier(exceptionally delicious. Some are hard to find in other restaurants) : Stir fried beef (dine in for the best flavor) Iron Plate Black Pepper Beef Double cooked pork belly Scallion pan cake Changsha stinking tofu (authentic special Changsha street food)
A tier(excellent) : Braided pork belly with preserved vegetables Special cauliflower Beef fried rice Pan fried bun/dumplings Steam fish fillet Boiling fish Sauteed pork belly with hot pepper Sliced beef over rice Fish fillets in hot chili oil
Good (you can find comparable ones in other restaurants): Shredded pork with sweet bean sauce Braided beef rice noodle (good flavor, but the beef is a bit too chewy) Sweet fermented soup ball (cheap delicious dessert)
Others: Brown sugar bun (the old version was s tier. It was soft and super delicious. The new version is okay. It is a bit too dry.) Egg custard bun (it is okay. The filling is too dry. You can find better ones in other restaurants.) Brown sugar rice cake (the rice cake is wonderful. It is sticky and soft. However, the brown sugar sauce is a bit bitter.) Wuhan hot dry noodle (it is spicy and numb. It is more like a Sichuan flavor dish. It is delicious. But it is not authentic Wuhan hot dry noodle. Wuhan hot dry noodle does not use Sichuan pepper.) Seaweed salad (it is wakame. It is not the kind of seaweed I expect.) Noodles with homemade hot sauce (it is tasty. But it is not the authentic North China noodles with homemade hot sauce.)
Old review: I have tried most Chinese restaurants in the Great Seattle area. This restaurant deserves a 6-star. The food is authentic, fresh, high quality and exceptionally delicious. My favorite dish is the stir fried beef rice bowl. It is flavorful and spicy. Their service is great too....

They forgot to put in a fork or chopsticks, how am I supposed to eat this —it’s a to go order! They also advertised a free bubble tea when I placed my DoorDash order and when I got there, the guy just tried to give me the food box and walked away with no drink. When I asked about the drink he shouted “ we’re out of bubble tea.” No offer for a replacement drink or pop even. I called them personally when I discovered the lack of utensils so hopefully they will improve next time for other customers but I’m totally out.
I’ve been looking forward to trying out Mount & Bao for months, finally got take-out tonight and it’s just okay. The pork bao was the best out of the dishes- and for me it scored a 3.5. The onion pancake was not edible. Too salty and thick; something about the flavor was just off-putting, even soapy-like, which can’t be good. The green beans were decent, a generous serving with good garlic flavor, although they seemed over-steamed just a tad, perhaps it occurred in the take-out box. They also forgot to include any napkins or chopsticks/utencils for a pick-up order. The pork xlb dumplings were kind of a fail also, definitely small sized and a bit dry with weak meat flavour. I hope my feedback will be helpful to the dumpling chef. I don't think...
Read moreMy fiance and I decided to stop in tonight after a long day on the lake, and we were warmly greeted and welcomed to the restaurant.
There are QR code menus for contactless ordering and payment (even for dine in customers) or they will bring you a standard menu as well.
After looking over all the items, we ordered egg drop soup, salt and pepper chicken (which was lightly fried and absolutely delicious) sesame noodles, BBQ hum bao, and beef soup dumplings. We got to watch chefs make the dumplings at a bar across the restaurant.
All of the food was delightful and delicious, but the salt and pepper chicken really stole the show for me. It was expertly seasoned and contained a green spicy pepper (may have been jalapeno, not sure) that was for the most part spicy without being painful, and did not cause the chicken to be spicy, so easily avoided of you're not a spicy food fan). I kept wishing there was more (even though it was a huge plate) once we were done. The beef soup dumplings were also very good. The soup was quite savory inside the dumplings and had a flavor that we both greatly enjoyed.
I will gladly go back again for another plate of salt and pepper chicken, and to try more of their items, all of which looked delicious. Oh! They even sell frozen hand made dumplings to cook at home!...
