I love this place. It's a bit trite to call it my "spirit animal" but it's pretty close. Just finished up my 7th or 8th meal there since I discovered it last summer, and can't believe I forgot to go here for a few months in a row. Their tea is awesome, their entire menu (I think I've had nearly everything) is consistent, and the staff is great. I love the ambiance, and I guess I've been trying to reverse engineer it for some time. Pretty magical. A soft jazz / romantic feel? I'm working on it. I would not hesitate to bring a date here. I wouldn't go here in sweatpants, but I've seen people do it. Prices are pretty reasonable so I guess it's bound to happen. The fish on fire is a pretty fun order if you're trying to impress someone (bc it's actually on fire). If you're a foodie, I've been to one restaurant with better Thai food whenI was outside DC (Sisters Thai in Fairfax), but 2C is probably better than the other half dozen I tried, and as I mentioned above, the tea and ambiance are also great. I usually go on the weekends. The same staff is working all the time. They seem to be hard workers and drained sometimes if you watch them not with customers, but they always take great care of me so I tip well. Hope they know it's an appreciated place! No idea why there's a one-star review now. I saw it randomly packed one day, maybe service gets backed up. I usually go...
Read moreDo you want attention to detail, get your order correct and your food cooked throughout? Then don’t come here. The past two times I have order from this place always it’s a disaster. I only keep going here b/c my husband really likes Thai food but will not be coming back. First incident was about 4 months ago where we order Phad Thai and other dish and the chicken was raw! I called them and they asked me to go back to get it fixed. I did not want to drive back so I let it go. Recent incident we order Phad Thai again and other dish, we order extra sauce on the side (charged separately). The Phad Thai was naked noodles and chicken it looked so not appetizing. My husband goes back and they make a new one, this time it was spicy (this was for my 3 year old). They don’t offer a new one they just ask my husband if he can take it and of course he said no. They make a third one and finally correct and we don’t get any extra sauce which we had already paid for ! I called them and the lady who answers was not listening to my complaint. She asked me to drive back to her restaurant for a refund, when we had already drove twice! I wish I could’ve kept pictures. Needless to say would rather go to Panda Express across the street than...
Read moreWe LOVE 2C! We've lived in the neighborhood for 7 years and this has been our favorite the entire time. We eat in or get take out at least once a month.
Food - everything we've had has been great! Some favorites include creamy crab (perhaps our favorite version), all the curries (green curry with avocado! red curry with pineapple and grapes!), the woks (especially garlic and ginger), and when we're eating in, crispy chicken. All spice levels are appropriate to the way they're labeled. Service - this is clearly a family or close knit group of folks working here. We are greeted like regulars every time we come in. I always feel like I'm an important customer. We live under five minutes away by car and under 15 minutes by foot; it is not uncommon to order food, immediately get in the car, and have the food come out from the kitchen while signing the check. Walking and calling our order in halfway results in similar timing. Atmosphere - open and airy. A fun tea display and also a fun wine bottle display. TV in the bar with sports. Plenty of tables in the main area and bar stools and tables in the bar area.
We're very thankful that our favorite Thai restaurant happens to be the one closest to...
