Somewhat small library, but if you have a card at this library then you can request any book from the extensive Seattle library system. Once you request a book, it will be delivered from whatever library in which it is located to this library. In sum: Don't let the size of this library fool you! You can have a massive amount of books sent to this library to check out!

In the somber sanctum of bound thoughts and inked dreams, there exists a place both serene and cacophonous—a curious conundrum of tranquil contemplation and uproarious discourse. Behold, the Lake City Branch of the Seattle Public Library.

In this haven of hushed whispers and rustling pages, the silence reigns as a sovereign, commanding reverence from all seekers of knowledge. Yet, amidst the labyrinthine shelves and towering tomes, a mirthful pandemonium resides. Voices, once dulcet and discreet, rise and fall like symphonic crescendos, a sonorous ballet of literary debate and animated inquiry.

From the abandoned alcoves echo the resounding laughter of discovery, the vibrant chuckles of epiphany cascading forth like a waterfall of jubilation. Here, silence waltzes with uproar, twirling amidst the elegant architecture, pirouetting through the air itself in a whimsical parade of contrasts.

Beware, dear reader, for within these storied walls, the unexpected becomes commonplace, the tranquil becomes tumultuous, and the cacophony of erudition dances with the calm of contemplation. Welcome to the Lake City Branch of the Seattle Public Library —a place where the quietude and clamor engage in a perennial pas de deux, entertaining the mind and spirit with their...

The people working in the library are very helpful !

Many varieties of books for you to choose from !

There is a toy section there too .

Not many kids playing in the library though .

Good thing is that the library is quiet !

Bad thing is that you don’t feel like bringing your little one here and spend some time here . A library is also a great place to socialize .

There are some homeless people relying on the library for rest and recreation. But they don’t post threat. There is one special guy who likes using the computer and making funny sound . In the first place , feel creepy when you get used to it , kinda funny . I kinda wanna see what show makes him so excited lol

One more advice for the library: I do hope there are more lighting in some corner of...

This is a good multifunction library which includes many bonuses. There is a small playground, study rooms/meeting rooms, a children's section with neat toys a kids books, videos and computer stations. There are several computers in the teen/adult area. Comfortable easy chairs and tables are located around the floor plan. I have checked out dvd's and cd's that are fun to watch and listen too. This is a medium size library and has had very helpful staff over the years. There is a very nice summer reading program for students which helped my daughter's become better readers and rewards them with a free book upon completion.

Stop in and try out this library it is an asset to the Lake...
