I was so sad when Momo, the boutique that used to occupy this space, closed—but there couldn’t have been a better shop than Sairen to step in and take its place. If you loved Momo then you’re going to love Sairen as well. The colorful and cheeky spirit of the shop lives on in this boutique stocking work from indie designers and local creators. You’ll find some really unique pieces here. The clothing they stock is designed, created, and curated with care, so you do need to be prepared to pay for the labor that’s gone into each item. You’ll definitely get your money’s worth out of anything you spring for, though—what I’ve bought there has been well made and durable. Plus, you’re supporting independent and local artists! The owners and operators of the store are delightful folks. It’s my understanding they are designers themselves and use the upper area of the store as a workshop! Read moreThis shop is SO cute! I stopped in here while traipsing around the ID and am so glad that I did. They have a variety of unique and thoughtful gifts made by both local (love the jewelry) and other small batch artisans. I let the owners know that the gifts I was purchasing were for a birthday dinner that night and they packaged it so nicely and thoughtfully with birthday pizazz. My friend loved the contents and even commented on the presentation of it.
Additionally, the shop owners were so friendly and sweet. I highly recommend checking this shop out while you are in...
Read moreThis little shopping spot is my happy place. I love the furry greeters, and the two young Asian women owners who pick the clothing (they make much of it, too), accessories and gifts are so nice. They carry my favorite Lulumiere candles from a local crafter, and it's the only place outside of Vancouver that I can find National Standards shirts for my husband. Plus, they have Hawaii-kine food tees and butter mochi mix — yum! Can you tell I'm from Hawaii? Stop by the next time you're in the International District and I promise you'll leave with a smile...
