This was my first time here. When I entered, i told them i wanted dip powder and a pedicure. they sat me in the pedicure chair and had a little girl give me a basket of nail colors to look at. I didn't ask questions but chose a color (some places have the regular polish like this also, so I didn't think anything of it). The lady had put a pillow on my lap which I've only had done when they are going to do my fingernails at the same time. So, I thought I was picking my dip powder color. The lady started my pedicure and then applied GEL in the color I chose. I never asked for gel as I normally never get gel on my toes, nor do I normally get gray on my toes. Gel is more expensive. But I just let it slide since she was already almost done ($15 difference). When it was time to do my nails, the lady was trying to tell me something about the dip powder. I expressed again that I wanted the color I had chosen. She started my nails as if she was going to do dip powder. She did the clear coat in the dip powder which I have had done before so I thought nothing of it. Then she began to paint my nails with gel. I reiterated that I wanted powder and she said she knows and that she would you get that powder but she continued to do my nails in jail. When she was finished I I said I was confused because I asked for dip powder to which she said she put the clear coat but used the gel because it is more shiny. I never asked her to do this. I told her I wanted dip powder. She told me because she put the clear dip coat under the gel that it was still strong and was the same. I have been doing the powder for many years and I've had the process done multiple times so I know in fact that it is not the same. She finally agreed to redo my nails. My total cost was $100 because I left a tip even though one was not deserved. I will never come back here again. When I ask for a service I expect to get the service I asked for not the one that they...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to frequent and defend this nail salon with my personal 5 star experience, but I have not returned in over a year due to a decline in service quality and change in attitude. I am writing this review now with a clear mind and after working with a new nail tech.
I would regularly get my nails done at Sarahās by the owner and enjoyed my time there⦠until I noticed they began to prioritize squeezing as many walk-ins as possible, to the point of rushing their clients who made appointments - then trying to blame the client who made an appt!! This happened in my final visit.
I had called and gotten an appointment for my usual set, and after starting on my nails, multiple groups started walking in as it was a Holiday weekend.
The nail tech/owner (omitting name for privacy) then obviously became stressed, and subsequently rushed through my set. She then tried to blame me and tell me I didnāt say the right thing when I called to make the appointment, so I ruined her whole schedule for the day ā Which I told her, if that was the case she could have told me at the start and we could have just done a basic manicure.
Oh also, all of those nails fell off within two daysā¦
Really unfortunate situation, but I have found a new tech in Capitol Hill on 12th and she...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMe and my girlfriend came in here for 2 manicures and 2 pedicures. There were four women working in the salon, the pedicures were great and her manicure was wonderful, but the younger woman who did my manicure felt really rushed, even though there weren't any customers waiting for their turn. This photo was taken right after we got home. The nail drill on my nails didn't seem like it did anything other than put deep grooves in my nails and my cuticles were left in worse condition than when I got there. The prices were great and the other 3 women did a great job. Would come back for a pedicure or if I got a manicure from a...
