Husband and I have had Ethiopian food many times at multiple Seattle Ethiopian restaurants. This is by far our favorite.
We ordered the lamb tibs two different ways, with Awaza sauce and without. It came quickly, hot and sizzling, on a gigantic injera with an appropriate amount of extra injera on the side. Wait staff who took our order was lovely. Very polite, very soft spoken gentleman. The woman who served us was the cook, and she was also an incredibly nice lady.
The food was INCREDIBLE. Just the right amount of spice. The injera was obviously made in-house, as the edges were crispy. It was well seasoned, and had exactly the right blend of sour and savory flavor. This is NOT toned down for the caucasian palette. If you want spicy, authentic Ethiopian food, this is the place to go.
The tables and restaurant itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with perhaps just a little bit too low lighting for my taste, which is the only reason we marked it at a 4-star at all.
Afterward, we sat by the window for a while just enjoying the day, sipping a home brewed cup of coffee and a diet coke. Total bill came to under $50 for two full meals, plus drinks.

Read moreI'm normally never out this way, and the two restaurants besides this one we're closed at the time. So what the hell, let's try something new!! The people outside and inside looked like they were enjoying themselves. So you order at the front counter your food and drinks. Take your number they give you to a table of your preference and wait. The ambiance of this place is super cool. One part of the restaurant is like a bike shop, if I remember correctly. It didn't take long for my Kimchi Bloody Mary to show up. Yes it sounds weird but it was damn good!!!! As some may know I love a good BLT!! This is not your regular smegular BLT. Wow of wow was it fresh and delicious. I finished that plate like I was starving!! I wanted another bloody Mary but I was driving home, so no bueno!! And don't be lazy put your own dishes away! Oh well til next time. Oh yes the...
Read moreI bet you all the good reviews here are by people they know! I was beyond disappointed. I am pregnant and came all the way here from out of town because I was craving an Ethiopian dish. They over use some spice( not berbere btw) and everything tastes exactly the same because of it. I could tell it was not fresh and the portion size was a joke. The injera had some black freckles. Guessing it was not Teff at all. After I ordered online and went after 20min as said on their site I had to wait for about 40 more minutes in there! Customer service was just awful. Very disorganized and rude.Don’t even bother looking...
