Couple things about this shelter 1.You have to be referred here by a case manager it's not a walkin shelter 2. They are very strict about how the rooms look and if you do get placed here they severally limit you on what you can bring in with you if you have too much stuff you get into trouble and can be temporarily kicked out until you go to what they call a care review. 3. Make sure you are on top of having your id and social security card and any other information they say that you need to get housing it will help you get placed quicker but only if you stay on top of meeting with your case manager regularly. 4. Couple very serious rules that they are very strict about (1)do not cross Aurora by running across the street use the underpass at Lynn st or the overpass down at galer st. (( People have been hit and killed by crossing Aurora by running across the street)) (2) no visitors & do not even try to sneak anyone into the building it will get you kicked out (3) no fighting it will get you kicked out immediately (4) you can not have weapons, torches, butane, hot plates, cooking appliances, no large furniture ( everything you bring into the inn has to be approved by management everything) (5) if you try to steal from thr inn or another resident you will be kicked out.
So long as you follow the rules and don't start any trouble the place is an ok place to be for the most part it's pretty quiet they finally after almost 3 years of staying there they finally helped me get my permanent houseing so it might take some time but they really do help people get...

Don't look for friendly smiling customer service. Or even adequate service. (if you get ANY at all) Approach the front desk with a truckload of patience and understanding in the fact that NONE of the people behind the desk are paid professionals. They are the people who live in the program, who are doing their bit for the Aloha Inn as it is a requirement, for all who are in the program to do so by contract. As for the facility itself... It's old. Smells old, looks...
Read moreI would definitely recommend the program. Though I was there as a survivor of domestic violence the program was perfect for me as it helped me to stay focused yes there were disagreements but I understand the staffs reasoning for what they do and why. Through working the program and saving money I was able to astablish a place of my own. The key that worked for me was. .. To remember why I was there and where I wanted to be. As long as I didn't get caught up in the gossip and drama is what keeps it stress free. As long as u wk the program and not let it work u. U can...
