Tea King — Restaurant in Seattle

Hands down my favorite Boba Tea place in Seattle. I ordered a Strawberry Oolong Tea, Peachy Skies, TK Milk Tea, and a Milk Tea pudding. The total is just over $30 but it was well worth it: they were all splendid and exceeded my expectations. Since I'm a Boba enthusiast, I adjusted the ice and sugar values and added complimentary toppings to all of them--they all turned out exactly I wanted for them (I've been to maybe hundreds of boba shops and getting what you requested is almost impossible).The oolong tea leaves were some of the best I had in the area, nothing too extreme while maintaining their original flavor and flagrance. The strawberry jam were also way much fresher than anywhere else--I think they are specifically made for this purpose. The peach used in Peachy Skies are both plump and chewy, it's as if they're picked straight from the orchards! The macchiato's consistency is perfect with the right amount of sweetness--it satisfies crave while not giving you a stomachache. The milk tea is like any other places', but it's boba really elevated the taste to a whole another level, they are cooked for at least 4 hours, maybe even more. I've already said this much but I must talk about the milk tea pudding, it encapsulated all milk tea flavor while maintaining a bouncy texture, the technique is hard to imitate--full props to them! The Seattle area is home to a number of great local and foreign tea businesses, so I didn't have high hopes for Tea King. Despite what you may have read elsewhere, the prices of the drinks here are comparable to those at other city teahouses. The high standard of all elements completely floored me. The pearls were fantastic, with a Q texture that was both smooth and slightly sweet. To do this, the pearls must soak in brown sugar, a step that is often neglected by other retailers. The harmony of the matcha strawberry latte was lovely. The fresh pineapple in our blended cocktail was another rarity. The atmosphere was harmonious and invigorating. The tea here is good, but the vibe is even better! I'm a stereotypical zillenial who likes my drinks to be as instagrammable as possible, and I can't help but praise this shop for having both great packaging and presentation. The lids aren't the standard punch-through to get your straw in, there is literally a cap on top of the lid. This is perfect for anyone who wants to save their tea for later or keep it in the car without spilling it all over the place!
