Late Sunday morning and decided to head to Office Depot to buy some specialty paper for drafting crafts. As soon as I arrived, I approached a very sweet young cashier for help. She began explaining where I could find specialty paper, but her voice was so soft that I could only catch the first couple of sentences before I started missing what she said. Being a senior citizen, I asked her to speak a little louder, and eventually, she did.
She informed me that the specialty paper was located at the far end of the store. I made my way there and found the specialty paper, but I also needed tracing paper—which I couldn’t find. I returned to the same register, and she sent me back to the same area, but I still couldn’t locate it. I went back a third time, and that’s when I finally asked her to go find it for me. She was standing with two other staff members by the registers and there were very few customers around. Eventually, she fetched the tracing paper.
Afterwards, I realized I also needed pencils. I approached a young man for assistance, also standing at the register, and he directed me all the way to the back of the store. My knees were still throbbing. Living in a senior citizens community, these long walks are especially challenging. In my frustration, I told him to just bring me any pencils he could find—as long as they were sharpened, since I know I have a pencil sharpener somewhere at home. He returned with a box of what he claimed were top-quality pencils, but they weren’t sharpened. During this interaction I was wishing I would’ve made my order on line.
If Office Depot wants to continue doing business, in a community that’s composed of primarily seniors, they really need to be more attentive to their customers’ needs.
When the store isn’t busy, the staff should go the extra mile to assist customers, especially those like me who need a little extra help, or may have apparent...
Read moreNever again! Our company has used this Office Depot for years to print our black and white scripts with three holes punched for our plays. We have always received good service at a reasonable price. We went in there the other day and were told that they were understaffed and couldn't do it. Then, half way through the conversation the manager told us he didn't want to lose our business and said he could do it. When we arrived to pick up the finished scripts, he told us he was adding 25% because it was a rush job. The total price for 40 scripts was $475.20! That was a total of 2640 pages. He charged us .18 per page! I contacted corporate and they said that they can't control the individual stores. They did admit that it was "totally not acceptable" and that they would be contacting me within 24 hours. Well, here we are 4 days later and haven't heard anything from them. Not surprised. Beware of this store or prepare to...
Read moreI loved the elderly lady that was my cashier , she was a wealth of knowledge. She helped me figure out my printer and ink. The reason I did a one star is because I returned something with another cashier and she told me everything went back to my card. Well I do not have my money and I am trying to call to see if there was a mistake because I have been waiting for the money to be returned. I have now been on the phone for an hour, no one is picking up. Not only that, when I paid the company receives their money instantly, so why when I return anything I have to wait to get my money back. Makes no sense I need my money. I may have to return to the store which is a 30 minute drive to get this refund that is owed to me. No one likes to be out...
