Wish I could give a higher star rating, but unfortunately - out of the 3 people that I've contacted , only one has gotten back to me.
I'll start with the good!
After a mistake had been made where we had somehow purchased a service contract for $3100 instead of our understanding of the car being under warranty... Chris Zapata was EXTREMELY helpful in getting this corrected. We went back to the dealership to give him a "wet signature" to cancel the contract, and were told that it could take up to 2 weeks for the check to be issued to the finance company. I just checked with the finance company (after a week - just to see if it was there) They said it hadn't reached them yet, but to contact the dealership and inquire if the check had been sent. In process of texting Chris now. He has always been extremely responsive in emails and in text - so i anticipate that will continue to be the case!
The also... good-ish LOL
We bought the car from Johnny B (Johnathan Briseno) and he was a very pleasant person! He wasn't too pushy, he was helpful in explaining things. In hindsight, there were things that were not explained well /clearly enough - but we figured we might be the ones just misunderstanding and hoped that it wasn't intentional.
He asked us to rate him, and write a google review - and we were very happy to do so.
However, since there were issues with the car, and we did contact him and two others - as I said, there has been silence from everyone except Chris. I think that's unfortunate - but if you are very sharp when it comes to buying used cars, and you know exactly what to look out for to not buy things you don't need? Then you should be fine here... because they are very pleasant salesmen!
now... the not so good.
We were informed that we needed to buy LoJack, and that it was a great benefit, that it would be an insurance benefit, and so on.
I have a friend that used to work here, and has told me (AFTER finding out that I went here to buy a car) that they will often do some mild-pressure/semi-sneaky things to push up the full amount that you're getting financed so that they make extra money.
Can I verify that? no.
Can I verify that I've asked to cancel the LoJack service on the USED (not new) vehicle that we purchased? If you research these services that are put onto the car - you'll find what I've found out. That dealerships do this and pressure you to pay for it so that they can make more money.
So... its unfortunate but I've contacted Steve Stark (the sales manager at Selma Nissan) MULTIPLE times by email , and he has simply refused to respond in any way.
All I can say to the buyers reading this is... it takes about 4 hours total to get through the whole process of filling out and signing all the paperwork. You're moved from room to room, signing on computers and paper and back to another room to sign more papers, tour the facility while you wait longer... etc. I really don't think they're all bad guys there. I think they're salesman trying to make their commissions in any way they can and if you are not constantly watching every thing theyre pushing - you're probably gonna be in my same situation now - waiting for things to get rectified that probably won't get handled fully because ... well, they simply don't want to let go of that money.
Just be sharp, stay alert for the whole 4 hour paper signing process LOL .. ask questions until you KNOW exactly what is going into every single page. do NOT settle for answers like "included in the price". ask "and WHAT is that full price?" lol
If you take that advice - you'll be good to go!
Ask for Chris Zapata personally - because even if you miss something that got by you... he is there to help, and set things right. And that has...
Read moreWe purchased a new 2015 Nissan Sentra from Selma Nissan. My review would have been 5 stars as the sales team was great to work with. We, unfortunately, have a car that has had issue after issue. My daughter, who also is on title drives this car. It has an issue sporadically that it looses power and will not go over 30, THATS DANGEROUS! We took it in in 2018 and every time they would dismiss our claims as they couldn’t find anything. I finally threw a momma bear fit as this is dangerous for my loved one to be on the road. They involved service manager Chris. I do have to say he accommodated us and kept the car. Ironically it happened again. Took it in and my daughter wrote a review. I received a call from manager Chris perplexed as why she would write such a review. What he didn’t know is when I called they couldn’t find paperwork from last time showing they replaced the cracked manifold as I was told. Then the customer service gentleman told me he would take care of me on diagnosis, only to find him giving me a paper to sign stating I would pay the 152 dollars. After my daughter called Chris (as I called twice and left message with no return call) and a review, they charged nothing. I am not saying I shouldn’t pay. I did buy bumper to bumper, won’t do that again as the loop holes are as big as the moon. But what I do expect is kindness, professionalism and when your service representatives tell me that other Sentras are coming in with this same issue but not enough for a recall-take care of your customers with as much enthusiasm as you did when you had the sell. If Nissan knows there is an issue with this make and model and it happens again with an injury or Lord forbid worse Selma Nissan will be looking at far worse then a bad review. My husband is a crop consultant and if he treated his growers as Selma Nissan treated us, he would be looking for a job. I’m starting to believe their inability to believe us is because...
Read moreI love Selma Nissan! I want to thank Ismael Chavez for servicing and repairing my car and I also want to thank Antonio Rios for taking the time to sit and talk with me and answer my questions. They serviced my car while I stayed in the waiting room. Ismael Chavez always does a great job on repairing my Sentra. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. They are always very welcoming, very attentive, and I know I can always count on Selma Nissan to repair my car with full confidence that I will be leaving with my car feeling brand new again. Not to mention their waiting area. Its like you are at home. They have couches and a big flat screen tv to watch with the remotes available to watch whatever you want. A big table with blocks/toys/etc. for the kids to play while they wait. They have a Starbucks coffee machine that makes a few different Starbucks coffee drinks that is also free and you can drink all the coffee you want. A snack machine, water dispenser, popcorn machine, and a little retail area with 2 counters of Nissan merchandise that you can look around in. Antonio Rios had came by and greeted me as all of Selma Nissan employees have always done when I go there. He took some time to sit and talk to me for a little while and gave me some great advice on refinancing my car vs. trading in my car for a newer car. He took some time to sit with me and explain the differences and the benefits of each option. Up until I spoke to him I didn't think I had any other option. But now I feel better and more at ease with my decision and will be back in a few months to trade in my car for another Sentra with a better trim package that have all the perks that I wanted before but don't have now. Thank you so much Selma Nissan. You're the best! It's always an enjoyable experience for me...
