Food 4 Less — Local services in Selma

Since my last visit there are New refrigerators for frozen product and items have been moved around. The store was clean and my visit was good until I paid for my groceries. I purchased three plastic grocery bags @ .25 and they were faulty. The corners of the bags were sealed and so the bags would not open all the way. I told my cashier who was now leaving for her break. Her response " that's how they came" . That was not acceptable. I asked her to call a manager. She walked away and then I see her at the next register paying for her items. I then ask the cashier in the next register if she can call a manager. The manager was running a register and so I had to wait for her while my groceries along with 2 pkgs of ice cream and a gallon of milk were still on conveyor belt. When she did come I explained what happened. She stated that my cashier did tell her I was waiting. I said she did not let me know that she had told someone she just walked away which lead me to believe I was being ignored. The supervisor on duty offered new bags which were just as bad or worse than mine. She gave me a refund (which I did not really want as I needed bags) she then let me keep the bags which was nice of her. My reason for taking time to write this is in hopes that if management /buyers read this Please check your product and if you know it's faulty DO NOT sell it. 25 cents is 25...

I used to have this store ranked as a 5 star, but consistently now for the last 6 months to a year, it has been a 2. I used to go here for everything and them some, because I knew they'd always have everything I was needing, and I wouldn't have to go to multiple places to find it all. Their prices weren't always the cheapest, but getting to save the gas and time of just shopping at the one location made me not care about paying a little more at times. Now when I go not only can I not find everything anymore, but I'm literally leaving with nothing in my cart the majority of the time. I sometimes still run over to get something, forgetting how now they probably won't have it, and I'm always reminded why I don't go by anymore. Not what it used to be. No longer 24 hours. Quality of food is hit and miss. So many young kids working without upper level management on the floor. Knats all over produce, they put the really old stuff on top of the new, so old it should be tossed out or reduced in price. Not stacked on top of the new stuff. Check the dates on everything especially if it's on temporary reduction. They are expired or only have a couple days left. This is why so many people go to Walmart and pay more for their groceries.
