Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel. The restaurant next to the hotel, Legends, has awesome food. The breakfast and dinner were very good and the service was impeccable.
I travel frequently for my job and have stayed at many hotels. Despite their best efforts, occasionally things can and will happen. My philosophy is that I don’t judge a hotel on whether something happens, but how they recover from it. I get it — we are still recovering from life being rather crazy for the past few years and hotels are still struggling (at times) to get back to the staffing they once had.
Not long after we checked in and got to our room we noticed a small problem with our room. My wife notified the front desk agent (it was fairly late on Memorial Day) who did his best to rectify the situation. Later we found out that he called one of the managers to ensure that he handled it properly.
The next morning my wife stopped by the front desk for something (I forgot what, but it wasn’t to complain about the previous nights incident) and the manager, Mark, was very apologetic that we had an issue. The head of housekeeping was also there and she took it up with the housekeeping staff as well. Even the general manager got involved. I was almost embarrassed at how much attention this issue was getting. They were acting as if it was a major major deal, which is wasn’t.
This is what I am referring to when I say that I judge hotels on how they react to a situation, not so much that the situation happened in the first place. Things can and will happen. The ball will occasionally get dropped. However, with this hotel the management staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND my expectations to ensure that we were satisfied. I was very impressed with how well they recovered and they went over and above what would have been necessary to please me!
I would most definitely stay at this hotel again if I were in the area again. The service, both at the hotel and the nearby restaurant were...
Read moreI've stayed at Swan Court about 15 times in the past and have always been very happy with my stay, untill this last stay.
I made reservations in advance for one king and tow Queen, When I arrived the and received my key for the room with two Queens I looked and the room number was 115 Iv'e stayed in 115 in the past and knew it was a king. I know this because when I travel alone and stay at the Swan I always ask for rooms 111, 112, or 115 because there right by the door so when it time to leave I just use that exit as that's were I park. So I ask the Desk if I had the right room ad his replay was yes I had the key for the double queen.(my thought was I wasn't think right) Me and my wife took our bags down to the room and sure enough it's a single King. I take the bags back to the Desk wait my turn as there are six guesses in line. I explained to the desk guy that the room was wrong he apologised and gave the keys to 215. In the room I noticed there was only three towels and washcloths, I called down to the desk and asked for one of each to be sent up. They never arrived. The desk guy never said thank you for being a gold member, did not offer any water or points as is custom. I will say the bed was very good unlike my stay at HI in Bakersfield the week before. I tryed to turn on the heater from the wall control and found it inoperable, I end up using the control on the furnace. The next morning I was the first was the bathroom and found a large spider in the tub, I took care of him and started my routine, when it came time to blow dry my hair i realized the plug in was 54" from center of the sink, the dryer cord is 52" long I'm sure you can see the problem. The wife and I shared the washcloth and towel as she had taken here shower the night before. All in all the stay was very unpleasant. Note, if my wife would have been the one that found the spider the night before we would have been out of there right then, I didn't tell her...
Read moreI have spent most of the past six months here while working in Fresno, usually Sunday evening to Friday morning. There are a couple things I want when I get checked in at any hotel: enough coffee to get me through the week and enough towels to get me through the week. Even without a pandemic, I don't want housekeeping services while I'm there. They always accommodated all this. ||||The service was always stellar, even from the nervous guy who didn't work there very long. ||||This hotel is clean. In most hotels, there are little spots of grime here and there, some worse than others. I did not see any of that here. Also, they have little bags of soap, shampoo, etc., that also contain a sanitized remote control for the tv so you aren't getting the last person's cooties from that. I did not use the pool or gym, but the pool looked enticing. It's probably not heated since this area is known for it's very hot spring/summer/fall. ||||Special shout out to Andrew. He was always pleasant and helpful, and if he was there when I checked in, he not only made it quick, he also had everything in the room already so I didn't have to ask.||||If you are looking for things to do nearby, this is not the place. There is an auto mall down the street and some fast food places and Denny's across the street. Kaiser medical offices and an urgent care place nearby. Not much in the way of entertainment. There is a restaurant on site, Legends Tap House and Grill. It's ok, nothing to knock your socks off. They advertise that they have the best hamburger on Hwy 99, which may be true but it still isn't that great of a burger. It's not bad, just not special. ||||But if you need a quiet, clean, comfortable place to stay, I highly recommend this place. The only thing that would have made it better is if I had just left my dirty laundry there and it was all washed, dried, folded, and put away when I got back. I do not expect that level of service...
