This place is frankly disappointing. Number 2 is an absolute nightmare; the brakes failed on me multiple times, and the steering was so loose I couldn't control it properly. It felt like a death trap rather than a fun ride.
Number 87, while thrilling at first, had its own set of issues. The seat was uncomfortable and kept shifting, making it hard to concentrate on the race. Additionally, the engine sputtered intermittently, causing sudden jerks that threw off my racing rhythm.
Number 34 had issues with the accelerator pedal sticking, which led to sudden bursts of speed that were dangerous in tight corners. It made the whole experience nerve-wracking rather than enjoyable.
Number 55 had a faulty seatbelt that wouldn't lock properly, leaving me feeling insecure and unsafe during the entire ride.
Number 12 had a malfunctioning throttle, making it difficult to maintain a consistent speed and ruining any chance of competitive racing.
Number 63 had a loose wheel that caused vibrations and instability, making it uncomfortable and challenging to maneuver.
Number 19 had a leaking fuel tank, emitting a strong gasoline odor that was not only unpleasant but also concerning for safety.
Number 41 had an issue with its transmission, causing it to get stuck in gear and lose acceleration at critical moments in the race.
Number 76 had worn-out tires that lacked grip, making it slide unpredictably on the track and compromising control.
Number 28 had a malfunctioning steering wheel that was difficult to turn, reducing responsiveness and making precise driving impossible.
Number 92 had a major electrical failure mid-race, causing the kart to abruptly shut down and leaving me stranded on the track.
Number 22 had structural damage reportedly caused by a previous overweight rider, which compromised its stability and safety during my session.
Additionally, there was a tragic incident where someone reportedly died due to a kart malfunction on track, casting a dark shadow over the entire experience.
Overall, this place needs urgent attention to its maintenance and safety standards. It's a shame because go-karting should be exhilarating and fun, not a series of safety hazards, mechanical failures, and tragic accidents...
Read moreterrible experience, rude new management, aggressive african american heavy set worker with beat jordans (had to give description because he REFUSED to tell me his name) shouted and multiple people and made a 9 year old girl cry and threatened to throw his weight around, I had been going here for almost 20 years and will never be back because of this experience, also I have it on good authority that these people bought 5-star yelp reviews (yes thats a very popular thing for greasy business like this to do but its EXTREMELY POPULAR) don't believe me? just look at the three 5 star reviews in a row that the accounts have only posted 1 review ever (for any business) and all three posted 5 star reviews at the same time, using full made up names. this place is a train wreck and probably the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD, I have never written a yelp before bust the outright disgusting lack of friendly workers here has prompted me to say something, do yourself a favor and stay away there are plenty of others better tracks in the area from Ocean Isle all the way to north Myrtle (within 20 minutes drives from Sunset Beach) where you will not get sick from mosquitos, shouted at by a rude employee not to mention the rundown shape of the carts (mine and a friends died three separate times even though I noticed a half full tank of gas) and a dirty small track that the employees don't bother to sweep so you have debris kicking up in your eyes Don't just take my word for it though save yourself from a bad night and just scroll down to look at other reviews from REAL CUSTOMERS and not a bunch of people sitting on computers getting paid to write...
Read moreWe visited the track last night so our kids could satisfy their need for speed, especially our younger son who is disabled.
Most places would not have even considered letting him on the track citing liability but the owner was kind enough to go through all of his concerns and then managed to find a solution that would allow us to see if Alex could handle the car whilst still looking out for Alex's safety.
He was kind enough to clear the track and slow the cars and his employees rode alongside as wingmen to make sure Alex stayed safe.
And Alex did handle that car...brilliantly! In fact, he was very tidy in the turns and maintained a beautiful racing line even better than his non-disabled older brother!
It is tough to find places that will let disabled kids try to discover all they can do...we are so thankful OIB Super Track cared enough to make sure our special boy had the ride of...
