Eagles Beachwear — Local services in Ocean Isle Beach

Wanted to try on a cute dress, the counter by the dressing rooms was empty, no one working it, which is fine, but there was a squeaky toy on the desk that said “Squeeze for customer service.” I squeezed the toy a couple of times because I did not hear or see anyone moving toward me. Then, an African American woman approached me and chastised me for squeezing the toy… saying that I needed to have patience and that there were only two people working that counter. I said I was not trying to rush her and that it was just hard for me to tell if someone was coming to the back to help me, I also mentioned that it is just fun to squeeze the toy. She then went on to try to patronize me again, saying “well it’s not fun, it’s not okay, we are trying to get back here” before walking off and leaving the other employee to do all of the work. Granted, this other employee was quite kind and attentive, but her coworker must hate her job because to treat customers in this rude manner without giving them any benefit of the doubt is ridiculous. I wish I knew her name so that I could make sure the other employee was not punished, but like I said she immediately walked away after spouting rude comments and did not help whatsoever. The front desk cashier was also rude and not personable at all, but I am giving them two stars because she did tell us about a BOGO deal and the second employee in the back was quite kind. This shop is pretty run down anyway, I would recommend going across the street to any other...

I am giving it a 3 star because they have a ton of stuff. I came after labor day, and there were some pretty decent sales. One negative was one of the workers. I pulled out a shirt off of the folded rack because I grabbed a 2xl the day before, and it was humungous. I was trying to see how big a 1xl would be before purchasing. She came over and asked me what size I needed. I told her that I wasn't sure that's why I pulled 2 out. She told me that she would hand the size I needed to me, because she didn't want me to pull them all out...because she had to fold them back...I came 350 miles to come to this beautiful beach just to have someone tell me I couldn't pick out shirts to buy.. because of that, I ended up putting them back.

*side note: I went to Beach Life the following day, and they asked me if it was "so and so " (gave me her features), and I told them that it was. They said that woman had actually gotten fired from their store for being rude. They actually told me that before I revealed what happened to me.

I understand it may get difficult with tourists in and out... BUT that is the job they chose. They have an impact on visitors...This was my first time at Ocean Isle, and that visit was the only time I didn't feel...

I give 2 stars only because they have nice items and good prices. As far as the employees go I’d give zero stars!! Got followed around like I was gonna steal something and constantly getting onto to me and my kids about touching towels and saying we are short staffed so we try to keep it nice for others. Ok I get that but we put our stuff back that WE touched! If it was already there then that’s not my fault. We wanted to look at them and we were there to spend money not be followed around and got onto. Then apparently a tag fell off of a item and she blamed it on me and my kids and I said no ma’am we have our tag on our item. She said well it wasn’t there and y’all were the only ones down that isle. At this point I was about to start losing my cool so we headed for the checkout.That experience wasn’t any better so to top it off at the check out the lady got upset when I pointed out the items rang up the wrong price. She got irritated and then went over my receipt item by item and then just walked away Didn’t hand me my bags or anything or say a thank you so very loudly I spoke up and said Thank you !! And looked at my kids and said well this is the last time We shop...
