I’ve been shopping at this Aldi for the better part of 10 years. I guess you could say that qualifies me as a loyal customer. I’ve never written a review before this one, so you could say that my experience in this store today left quite a bad taste in my mouth. I’ve always enjoyed the products at Aldi, and of course been partial to the prices, and the money we save. The employees in this store, on the other hand could use some rude awakenings and hard truths when it comes to customer service. They are total trash at it. Today (Sunday) they were very busy. I walk in and make my way to the produce isle. All of a sudden an Aldi employee is right on my heels with a floor shiner/cleaner, like I’m in his way, and proceeds to follow right behind me down the entire isle. A paying customer should never feel like a burden, or like they are in the way. Aldi has pretty narrow isles as it is, so pulling out the floor cleaner at the peak business time is a huge amateur move, and also not a very bright one. Speaking of amateur moves- not a wet floor sign in sight. Pretty risky considering there were at least 40 customers in that store at that time. Then I get to the checkout and the cashier doesn’t look at me, doesn’t say hello, doesn’t even try. I knew right then that I wouldn’t be back to this store. I wish I could say this is the one and only time I felt like I was just a pain in the a** customer (in the way) in this store, but sadly it’s not. I get that they are all about being fast and efficient, but they need to do it in a way that is courteous and considerate of their customers. Quite frankly we’ve spent way too much money in that store over the years to be treated less than great. Not really expecting this review to have much of an effect, but had to vent my frustrations. Hopefully the next Aldi to receive my patronage treats its customers better. If not, then I’ll have to be rid of...
Read moreThree years have passed since my last review of Aldi in Lenexa. Previously, I gave them five stars with a significant complaint embedded in my review. The store is a well run, clean, and an efficient store with magnificent employees. However, my complaint from three years ago has returned! This time I would like Aldi corporate to understand that discontinuing the full gallon of fat-free milk, and then charging a 50% premium per ounce for the half gallon is not acceptable to me. It will dramatically impact my store visits in which I buy many other items. Fat free milk should be your least expensive milk per ounce on the shelf. The fat and whey that get skimmed off to make it fat-free are sold at a premium and make products like half-and-half and heavy cream. The Milk producers makes significantly more money on fat-free milk because they can take the by-products and sell them at a premium. You’re purchasing agents are not doing a good job of negotiating the price of fat-free milk or you purposely price gouging the consumer. If you’re going to discontinue the full gallon of Fat-free milk, at least have the courtesy to price the half gallon at a fair market value Comparable to your other...
Read moreThey do not favor helping poor and feeding hungry. Price chopper will DONATE cans to feed hungry but this Aldi gripes at you when you BUY lots of cans. I am a teacher, was there with students who were spending their own hard earned money from their afternoon jobs so they can donate these goods to services who help those having hard times and they got repremanded for taking food from "Aldi customers." Are these students not CUSTOMERS spending money? Their warehouse is JUST DOWN THE ROAD, they can go pick up a couple crates or if another "customer" needs to get two cans of green beans, I'm sure its not too tough to cross the street to Target. I'd advise you to support the 87th street Aldi where I FINISHED my PERSONAL can donation purchases (after unfortunately first spending $200 of unappreciated support from my classes donations). ....that is unless you want to contribute to Walmart's monopoly. Just trying to support some smaller businesses Mr. Manager. Thought you'd appreciate the support. From previous reviews it looks like you should worry about keeping your produce stocked, not so...
