In February I purchased a barn door for our bathroom as a bday gift for my wife. I had an install pro come out to verify measurement and our purchase order was confirmed/placed after measurements. Install was set for 3 weeks out which was not ideal but whatever. When install crew arrived with the door they unboxed door only to find the door was defective. I was told barn doors that have to be assembled are defective 50/50 of the time. Not what I was hoping to hear but things happen. I went thru Lilly and Christian in milllerk to get things sorted, recorded and reorded. Another 3-4 weeks pass and our 2nd door shows up for install with crew at our house per schedule and again the door is defective. Cross members were not cut to correct dimensions just like 1st time. I called to talk with store manager who ensured me the 3rd time they would actually assemble the door in store to ensure that the door was suitable for install before we took off work, boarded up dogs etc. again for install as it is an accommodation we have to make each time an install is scheduled. It is nowJune, we order our 1st door in February and we still do not have an install date, have confirmation that the 3rd door is suitable for install we and have had multiple empty promises to return our calls to confirm either of these things. We just want answers when we can expect a 3rd attempt! I rarely resort to putting this type of information out about any operation but this has been the worst experience with a service provider I have ever had encountered. Nearly 4 months for a simple barn door assembly and install purchase and nothing to show for it. I have received no follow through on when Home Depot will be servicing this order but I have got a lot of lip service of how they are so sorry we are going through this, they are âworking on it and have been very busyâ and âthey feel so badâ. They did go as far as a $50 discount. At this point the birthday sentiment of this gift is long gone and we are just wondering how long they will actually drag this out. What a disappointment. If your own team in house and install tells clients these types of products are regularly hit or miss, discontinue it or fix the procedure but stringing your customers along for 4 months is just...
Read moreI went to the Home Depot at Tiffany Springs, MO on 4/11/19 to buy hardwood flooring material. The Flooring Dept Rep told me that the store have 48 boxes currently in stock, ready for pickup of the flooring material I have chosen. I ordered 40 boxes which I picked the following day. Two days later, my floor installers informed me that Home Depot gave me 11 boxes that were of the wrong color. I ordered 40 boxes of Fall Classic, but the store included 11 boxes of Mocha color with my order. I returned to the store to exchange the wrong boxes but they told me that they do not have any more of the Fall Classic on hand. The Store Manager contacted the Home Depot at Shawnee Mission and made arrangements for home delivery of 11 boxes of Fall Classic flooring on 4/15/19. I received a call late that day from the delivery man informing me that he could not deliver my order on the scheduled delivery day but will deliver my merchandise the following day. I waited all day 4/16/19 but the delivery man never came nor was I given a call. I contacted the Home Depot at Tiffany Springs and was told that my merchandise is still sitting at the Shawnee Mission store. I informed Home Depot that my flooring project had already begun and my contractors only have 2 boxes left to work with. This botched sale was going to cost me additional labor expenses and delayed completion of the project since my contractors have other upcoming project commitments as well. The Store Manager contacted the Shawnee Mission store and arranged for me to pick up my order directly from their store instead of home delivery. This entite store ordeal has left such a bitter taste in my mouth that I will find it hard to ever come back to shop at Home Depot or recommend it to any of my family...
Read moreMy partner and I were searching for screws for a TV stand for a Samsung 32" LCD TV, model number LN32B360. We wanted to watch TV in the living room really bad, so after hours of fruitlessly searching for the right screws for the TV stand, which we had lost several weeks earlier, we decided that a journey to Home Depot may help us out. We also thought we needed some chicken wire, but after further consideration it turns out we don't need any chicken wire. The parking lot of Home Depot was very easy to navigate, but it was raining, and my partner's house slippers became wet from standing water in the lot. This was not a big deal, he had spare socks in the car. While searching for the screw aisle, we saw a really good deal on a decorative mirror, and almost got it. Almost. While searching through the millions of styles of screws, we were faced with the harsh reality of having no knowledge of mechanics, we were forced to curb our egos and find help. We traveled to the nearby help desk, which had a few able-bodied men ready to help us in our quest. A young man named Jim stepped up and took charge of the situation, and rushed to our side. He accompanied us back to the screw aisle, and immediately eyed the thing the screws go in and said "this is definitely a metric-sized screw, because China." We were like "Dang, Jim is much smarter than us." Jim blindfolded himself and thrust his hand into a vast drawer of screws, and drew forth 3 screws of perfect length and tread. They fit perfectly. Jim said "My job is done", and disappeared. He was awesome. My partner and I, exhausted from the preceding, completed our visit by checking out. We almost walked down the wrong checkout lane. Everyone was nice to us, and the screws were...
