EDIT: I finally got to meet with the owner this week. He, just like last time, was super sweet. I didn't want anything that wasn't fair and he had no problem with that. He is suppose to address the issues with the "General Manager". For his sake and the sake of his business I hope he does. He is also supposed to address the vaping. I plead with him to please watch the cameras, hopefully he will. He needs to know how she is and what goes on while he's not there. I can't say I would go there again, especially not if she's really going to be placed as the GM. I'd rather drive to Dallas. The games like skee ball and basket ball don't keep score, the pinball machines are ok. The kitchen sells personal pizza mainly, which personally (and a few of the 13 yr old party guests agreed) was not very good. The birthday party room was supposed to come with a tv and game system for us to play, which did not happen, not even a trash can in the room to clean up, but the worst part is when you are charged for kids that are under the age of being charged (4), parents that only came in to keep an eye on their kid, literally nothing else, and then for a 60 yr old man and his wife, who while waiting for the cake and presents, didn't even play a full pinball game. He didn't even want to go, he wanted to give him the present the next day, but I wanted him to be apart of the party. The "general manager" who had an attitude when I came in to pay ($345 limited food included) I gave the benefit of the doubt. Every has bad days, but on the day of the party, she was still rude and snarky. She was rude to some of the boys, acting like they should know something about what/where to hit the punching bag game and was too busy "talking" to some guy that was vaping at the bar, even though they aren't supposed to. She should not be a general manager if she can't control her tone, facial expressions or comments. This is probably why they needed an investor, not to mention their selection isn't very great and they don't ensure their controllers are charged for the following day as we got there close to opening time. VERY unprofessional. I keep going up there to talk to the owner and still get the "GM". Commented on a FB post to which they replied, but I assume it was her as I still haven't gotten any resolution or to speak with the owner. (they are the only 2 that work there) and she conveniently has no clue when...
Read moreI’ve had the good fortune, as an acquaintance of the owner, to see this arcade at various points during its buildout and now after its opening. Ryan has poured his heart into Glitch’s Arcade, taking great pains across many long months to ensure an awesome customer experience. His selection of vintage arcade cabinets was carefully curated to appeal to a broad range of players—this one included. He also stocks a great selection of vintage consoles (Atari, NES, SNES, SEGA, N64, etc.) with a full complement of games (not to mention great drinks and food). As a native of Grayson County, it’s gratifying to see this type of free-play arcade finally come to our area—as many can attest, driving to the metroplex for night of retro gaming gets old quickly. To whatever extent a visitor is inclined to complain about a few cabinets on the fritz, please bear in mind these are 40+ year-old pieces of equipment. And Glitch’s staff has been quick over the couple weeks since opening to tackle each problem as it’s arisen. On the whole, I think the Glitch’s team hit this one out of the park and I am excited to see the business continue to grow and what new games they’ll have for us to enjoy in the future. Can’t...
Read moreThe retro arcade games were fun; however, the atmosphere was lacking. After a certain time it felt like sketchy people were coming in and one of the female bartenders were rude and acted like she really didn’t want to be there. They gave the vibe of: you have to know someone there in order to be treated well or get a decent drink. Then it seemed like underaged girls had been drinking, which led to an altercation outside and the cops getting called. Not sure if I’d go again after my first experience going. Not to mention, my fiancé had ordered food but they said the kitchen was closed. 2 hours later: they served...
