Bought a 1lb bag of candy here for black licorice jelly beans and my mom bought a .25 lb for my grandma. When we got home we had 4 family members try it and everyone agreed they did not taste like black licorice. We called to see if we can return it and the beach haven and they said we could. When we arrived the woman was extremely rude, the 1 lb bag (that no one touched) weighed the EXACT same, and she said “well it’s probably just you, you know some people say it tastes like black licorice, some don’t it’s probably your tastebuds.” As we walked away she said to the other coworker, “yeah I’m giving her credit not her money back i dont care.” So we walked out, no candy (didn’t even take the candy we were returning), and no money back. I am 100% a grown-up sweet tooth. I love all candy, chocolate and gummy’s, sour and sweet…you name it. But I have tried to stop eating it recently, and nobody could make me eat it. So for a change of scenery I came here. Well congratulations… they did it. This place is a dream, especially for a kids, I have to admit, I go to lbi every summer for just about two or three days, and every time we leave, I take my kids there. Now the prices are fair. They charge you on how much your bags weigh. So I always tell them, oh come on kids we don’t wanna fill up your bag so high. But they never listen… But the candy ends up Lasting a lifetime. I'm only providing two stars because you are required to wear masks when entering the stars and they provide sanitized tongs and scoops with bags. I appreciate that. Candy is overpriced for what it is - generic mass produced candy, nothing special, nothing locally made to justify it. There also wasn't the biggest variety. If all of the toys and knick knacks (also most likely mass produced and shipped in from somewhere else) were removed, it could have easily been condensed down to a quarter of the size.
