Be careful what you buy

I tried to order a used generator. It had apparently already been sold, but they offered another similar generator with a less favored engine and more hours. It was sold as "used, load tested"

I drove to pick it up. It will not start or run. I contacted the company for help and was told to call an industrial service company for support. They're is none for 90 miles. I described the problem and the thought was that the software was corrupted. I took the controller apart to find it was internally melted. I sent them pics and the response was "it's a shame it had never run for you, maybe you can find stuff to fix it on ebay"

To get it running required replacement of the controller, voltage regulator, throttle body actuator, relay block, exerciser, and governor. It also has a leaking thermostat exhaust manifold and the fan shroud had disintegrated. By the time I had a running 20 year old generator, I could have bought a brand new cummins or kohler for the same money.

If you are considering a generator from them I would not purchase unless they will show it running. If I had asked to see it running (no easy task for one of these things) it would have saved me thousands and a trip to Philadelphia...

Frank Becker was my Sales Rep at Quantum Technology and I cannot say enough good things about him! He not only researched the item I was looking for - to find us 3 of the same thing - but personally worked with his warehouse and shipping departments to have it sent out as quickly as possible!
