Great little diner in Shippensburg. I stopped there with my wife the day after a concert at the Performing Arts Center. The service was excellent. The food was very reasonably priced, and the quality of the food was very good. Big surprise, I had to try out the sausage biscuits and gravy. It was better than average. I'm guessing for my conversation with the waitress that they don't make their own biscuits which is a bit of a shame, but understandable given the time required. Homemade biscuits would definitely step this meal up a bit. My wife had the Ship breakfast which included a side of their French toast. This is not your mother's French toast, as they dip the Texas toast in a pancake-like batter. Definitely a little bit different and quirky but good. The menu isn't huge but it met our needs well. We noticed while we were there that the local fire/ems staff eats here which is always a great recommendation for a breakfast restaurant...
Read moreGreat little cafe! It was packed when we stopped in but were immediately seated, greeted, handed menus and our drink order taken. Our drinks were quickly delivered. Once we were ready to order, the order was placed correctly and delivered quickly. Our waitress checked up on us frequently. The food was very good and the portions were large. We had the Eye Opener and the Country Mix. I would say the eggs seemed a bit overdone and didn't seem like it was 2 eggs (they could have been "small" sized eggs as I'm used to cooking with "large" sized eggs). The hashbrowns were shredded, which are my favorite, but didn't seem done well enough. I noticed a child behind me had hashbrown patties, but those were never offered as an option to my daughter, so I ended up eating her shredded as she doesn't like them that way. Overall, we were both happy with our meals and service and will definitely come back again to try...
Read moreCame here once and that was all I needed. I forget what holiday it was, but I was asked by the old man up front (maybe the owner) if I had reservations. I didn’t and he was nasty about it. I was about to leave, but a waitress said it was ok and sat my baby and I in their pathetically empty establishment. Another family came in after me without reservations and was welcomed just as badly. Their food was basic, nothing to write home about. Before I was finished or could ask for anything else, a different waitress just put the check in front of my face.
I told my neighbor about my experience and they told me they used to love this place and their food. They apparently got new owners at some point and everything changed. My neighbors laughed and said they make it a point to never come here now. Lesson learned- neither will I…the disrespect wasn’t...
