Rice N Pho Vietnamese Restaurant — Restaurant in Shippensburg

UPDATE: Changed rating from 4 to 5... The first time I ate here I ordered take away, but eating in is hands down a 5+ Everything was as I expected it to be even after living with a Vietnamese room mate in Seattle, I've been spoiled. I would have never expected a place in Central PA like this to be so amazing and on point! I'm a food SNOB and I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!!! Be sure to ask for their Bubba Te (or Thia Tea.)

This place could easily earn a 5!! The host/waiter was really nice, seem very laid back. The food... Comparable to the pho I've had in Seattle, it was missing ALL OF THE SPICE!!! I ordered take out so I'm not sure what might have happened there, but I hope they weren't assuming that I have a bland pallet... I need my spicy peppers and chili sauce!!! That being said, the broth was on point, I know it takes a long time to properly prepare and and cook, and it was on point. Everything else was there and fresh, the onions, the cilantro, the onions. There was something else missing too, a green herb I'm not as familiar with, but it completes the flavor. Also, there wasn't any mint leaves in the spring rolls, but they were still okay. The sauce for the spring rolls was a bit sweet, but still good, with lots of flavor. And I was disappointed that they were using Styrofoam in their to-go containers. They claim healthy fresh ingredients, which I do not contest, but the chemicals that can leach into the food and can cause some pretty narly health problems, not to mention how bad it is for the environment once we throw it out. But I must say, the food was still fantastic, and the service was pretty stellar... I hope to go back soon and change my rating from...

I am not an adventurous man with food..meat, potatoes, repeat for me for the most part, but we bought a house a block from this restaurant (who’s name I am not comfortable pronouncing )and we were tired and dirty from unpacking a truck and thought let’s try the place on the corner. We ordered a couple of basics around the menu and they figured out we were newbie’s What we got for our dinner was nothing short of miraculous. I was given a proper explanation by a couple of delightful and articulate young people and the owner came out and loaded me up with sauces and condiments to enhance the experience. She also generously included a couple of slices of green cake that took a moment for me to build up the courage to try but once I did. WOW. I don’t usually leave reviews but this place was excellent!! This restaurant was a quick rest stop for the family during a road trip. Customer service was amazing for the entire visit. Due to COVID restrictions we were unable to sit in the dining area, the staff served us in the parking lot. Jocelyn and Nen, the owner truly went above and beyond to ensure the family was satisfied with their food choices, provided paper bowls, and even offered chairs for us to sit outside of the restaurant. The restrooms and restaurant was clean. The food portions was large and appropriately priced. They also offer military discount! The food was tasty as well.
