My husband and I used to love coming here to pick out a new board game together. We knew they were under new ownership but didn’t expect the store to have changed so drastically. When we walked in yesterday, the guy behind the counter was hunched over, sleeping in his chair. He didn’t even flinch or wake up when we walked in. Honestly it was incredibly off-putting… I didn’t look around much as I felt really uncomfortable, but I could see enough to notice that the shelves were practically empty, there were no board games like there used to be. What a huge bummer since this place was always our go-to and we were hoping to have a fun game night. As we turned around to walk out, the guy behind the counter opened his eyes, my husband asked if they no longer carry board games.. no response, he just stared at us. My husband repeated the question, again, no response. He had asked for a total of 3 times thinking the guy just didn’t hear him or something but he was clear in his question. We never got our answer.. he literally just stared at us and scratched his head. It was so bizarre! We immediately left and will not be coming back. We’ll order our board games online...
Read moreBoard games are a social activity that can bring diverse groups of people together. Playing a board game can create a deep compounded relationship between your friends and family. After 3 years of living on the mountain Deuces Wild Games has given that to my family and I. Walking in today I was astounded by the lack of games, diversity, and welcoming atmosphere the previous owners worked so hard to create. The lobby was barren of those games my little brother and family love. The people were unwelcoming and there was no effort for interaction to share what the people there loved. A store that brought unlikely folk together blossomed under Ken and his wife. They made the unlikely niches of others a place to socialize and create new relationships. This new Deuces Wild Games is not a place I’ll be returning to unless I want a Pepsi from their new fridges that were so necessary. Thank you for what this place used to be. I’m sorry for those who will never get the chance to experience it like my...
Read moreStopped by to kill some time, ended up picking up a commander deck to introduce a friend of mine. The staff was incredible. Professionally handled many people in the small lobby, and was able to shift between customers. Even when I had a quick simple question about a card case. The quick shift to answer my question, and then right back to a different pricing related conversation. Attentive, knowledgeable, and Respectful. These folks have the spirit of MTG. 👍👍 I will be returning to the new location next...
