Ivan Smith Furniture — Local services in Shreveport

This was my first time coming in to this furniture store. Everybody was friendly. I told the saleslady that I was just looking for now but I felt as if she was pressuring me to go ahead and buy a new living room set. She said that if I did that it would help her to meet her quota for that day. I even told her the amount that I wanted to spend. The furniture that I purchased was a little more than I wanted to spend but I ended up purchasing the living room set anyway cause I really didn't feel like going to any other store to see what furniture that they had. I had told her that I didn't want anything powered. She had failed to tell me that my loveseat was powered. I didn't find that out until the 2 delivery men brought my furniture to my house. I am a 60 year old disabled woman and I had recently lost my husband so I asked if they could remove my old furniture just outside my house. She said that they don't do that. I ended up hurting myself getting my old furniture out of my house because I have no one that could help me. Where do I even begin, when you walk into Ivan Smith off of pines road you’re greeted and immediately on a first name bases. You’re never pressured or forced into the sale. They work as a team to help you become part of their Ivan Smith family. I drive 45 min passing other Ivan smith stores just to do business with Cynthia because of how she goes above and beyond for her customers. You can’t forget store manager Duane for his knowledge and being there to share a great laugh while making the experience more enjoyable. Last but not least, Mr. Steve he wasn’t my sales person however, he always greeted me by my first name and always was willing to help me when Cynthia wasn’t available to help me. Jim, i believe was our salesman. Liked that he just let us shop around and just checked in with us periodically. COMPLAINT, he told us the cabinet that we purchased, would not be in a box, but assembled, it was not, it was in a box and we had to assemble it. That was the main reason we chose to purchase from Ivan Smith instead of purchasing the one at Sam's Warehouse -- as the one at Sam's we were going to have to assemble, but Jim assured us the one we were purchasing from Ivan Smith would be assembled. By the way the Ivan Smith one was $125 more, but as it was supposedly already assembled that would have been ok.
