This restaurant was where the family chose after my great-nephew's promotion ceremony. He was student of the year, and led the auditorium in The Pledge of Allegiance, which I though was pretty cool.
What is great about Remirez is the very affordable lunch menu. The queso blanco is very rich, and there wasn't a stale chip in the basket.(at some Mexican food joints one might bite a stale chip or two - not at Remerez)
There is an alternative(some more mature people might not like to think of it as a kid's)menu which has chicken fingers and such. Those offerings are usually pretty good. But of course we know the secret - chickens don't have fingers.
All the food looked great. I had my second favorite - the chicken chimichanga - and it was awesome. It was such a great portion that I brought half of it home to have later.
The staff - most wonderful. I don't get to this part of town often. When I do, Remerez is one of my favorite places to dine.
Today was one of the rare dining experiences when I can think of no note of construct to include. All was right with the meal.
T'is so wonderful, in fact, that I never associate the name with that of The Night Stalker - well, hardly...
Read moreWhen we first arrived, we had just walked out of Nicky's Mexican Restaurant because we saw the prices on the menu and they were pretty outrageous. We were really craving some good ol' Mexican food though so we saw this place on the map nearby. Not much to look at on the outside, but the moment we opened the doors it was very lively and energetic. Every table was full so we had to wait a bit to get seated, but we stuck around because we wanted to see what the fuss was about. Sat down and looked at a menu we noticed the prices were reasonable, on par with most Mexican restaurants. The moment we took a bite of the salsa we knew we were someplace special. The salsa was fresh and the chips weren't too salty. I myself ordered the Ramirez plate, which was a bit pricey, but I always order fajitas of some sort from Mexican restaurants and they normally are a higher priced item. It was fantastic either way. The meat was plenty moist and not greasy while having excellent flavor. The waiter was attentive and our overall experience with this place was by far one of the best dining experiences I've had in a Mexican restaurant. I'd rate it...
Read moreFirst time eating here. Super friendly staff and very good Mexican food. Do not let the outward appearance deceive you. It is located in a strip mall but is quite nice inside. I hold Superior Bar and Grill in very high regards but believe the food may actually be better here. Large portions and fair prices. My beef fajitas were excellent as were my wife's chicken fajitas. Her meal also had chorizo on the plate and was the best I've ever sampled. Do yourself a favor and try this place. You won't regret it. Edit 3/3/2023..... Came back to try again. Food was great again but service was abysmal. They were fairly slow with plenty of wait staff but once our food was brought we were never checked on again. We had to get our waiter's attention to get refills on drinks and interrupt his conversation with other wait staff. Same again to ask for our check. We enjoy the food but the service was so bad this time that we won't be back. Our waiter was an older male Hispanic man who seemed to want to be anywhere else but at work. He singlehandedly ruined our otherwise enjoyable...
