I have used Lighting showcase in the past. Loved working with George. Helpful and very knowledgeable. We purchased 2 chandeliers and 6 sconces when we updated our home.
Today i went in to look for some sconces and vanity fixtures for our master bath remodel and Bedroom lighting.
George began helping me and then he was relieved of his time from me by another man (after about 10 min of talking to me). The person who took over for George did not introduce himself, and was incredibly rude!, I will NEVER make another purchase again from lighting showcase again...EVER.
He quickly asked if I was planning on buying today, and I shared that I was in the preliminary stages and getting an idea and browsing some catalogs. Also that I wasn't planing on a purchase today, as I wanted my husband to have a chance to look too.
He was very rude and said "we could sit here and do this all day", but you will have to give a $100 deposit to sit here and look. Unbelievable lack of professionalism and poor customer service. I was speechless.
He suggested that I look online and then come back to the store after making a decision. What is the purpose of this shop if only to find what is needed online. They provide no value... Made me feel unwelcome and without a desire to help.
I will spread the word .... I am always looking to support local business, but good grief......
Read moreBoth times I have visited the shop, it has been in disarray. Undeterred, I bought a light for the front of the house a few years ago. The most recent visit was for purchasing seven outdoor lights for a patio. Again the shop was in disarray and my wife and I started to walk out, but Albert stopped us and suggested we look through some catalogs. We spent about an hour going over the catalogs and picked out a few product numbers that we liked. Albert gave us the prices. We went home and looked at them again on the manufacturers website. We narrowed it down to one model and I returned to the shop to place an order. When I arrived, Juliana informed Albert that I had arrived. Albert's reply was, "I have no time for Mr. (my name)". At that I was ready to walk out the door, but Juliana asked if she could help me. Juliana was very nice, and very helpful and we were able to place the order. I made sure that Albert knew I was offended by his remarks. I left Juliana with instructions that my contractor would be picking up the lights while I was away. Today I got back and found out that this same Albert was trash talking about me to my contractor when he picked up the lights. This shop features good products, but Albert could do with some customer relations schooling. I will look elsewhere next time I need to...
Read moreA grouchy older man was loudly complaining about a shipment gone wrong. He seemed to be the boss, and people were walking on eggshells around him. A woman behind the desk was loudly complaining/gossiping on the phone about someone irritating her. I (the customer) remained invisible, apparently. Saw a light I liked, but it displayed no price on it. Asked the receptionist. Her brusque manner suggested my needs were an onerous demand. (I lived, for a brief time, in NYC and Long Island. I am not a newbie to the cool temperature of "brusque.") I left, thankful that I have other options. I called back a week later, to ask about that light. It had been discontinued. She would not, would not, would not give me the name of the manufacturer, so I could hunt it down. Lovely...
